There usually is something to be said when you've stolen away so many different fools that they all start looking the same. Then again, when one ends up seeing the same survivor over and over again, the mind tends to play tricks.
This is a moment where Maxwell had to take a moment to realize that the survivor he had appeared to was... someone else entirely. A new face? A new face would be impossible! The demon must've taken every survivor here. How absolutely dreadful it is to greet these survivors when they came back from the dead and completely forget who they were.
A senior moment perhaps? Forgetting everyone? Well, this was hardly agreeable.
"... say... pal... it's nice seeing you, isn't it? What not and... yes?"
Hardly a smooth way to start a conversation. But then again, survivors never are able to really do anything but that? So why not say whatever you please?
