I do think the worst people are the ones that get the most offended by the insinuation that they aren't good people, in some way. they're the ones who get offended when you say they're racist, or if you say they're being transphobic, or if you even HINT at the possibility that what their actions are doing align in the direction of some form of bigotry.
I'll never forget when I told a cis woman, who was my friend at the time, that I found her behavior towards other trans people, including trans people who considered her their friends or even looked up to her, weird, overly hostile and belligerent, and she immediately leapt to say how offended she was that I was implying she was being transphobic and that was basically the end of the friendship. she didn't want to examine her own behavior when me, a trans individual, called her out on it (this was all done privately BTW), she just immediately was mad at me and shut down the entire conversation and blocked me on discord and social media.
