So dog beer time appears to be in the past and theres no horse themed post for today and I’m bad at blogging so here’s an embarrassing please for cash for my young St Bernard dog.

I didn’t know dogs could get Addison’s Disease but now that I do I hope that, with time and proper care, my dog can get little forearm crutches to use in private and still become president of the United States. Unfortunately my life as a bootlegger has not gone according to plan.
I have been pretty broke for most of the last year as I got It Happened To Me’d by automation and I suck at figuring out money or human contact of any sort. So of course my weird skinny Bernard, Ripley, who showed up in our yard one day and assigned herself to me in a way no dog ever had before, is now sickly and maybe dying. I hate writing that.
Her sob story is that she was rescued from a backyard where she was chained up and seldom fed and weighed in the 29-lb range as a one year old. For comparison an average one year old St Bernard is about 100-lbs. She also had a terrible hot spot. I’ve always wondered what those people were doing owning a St Bernard when they didn’t give her any sort of care at all. Maybe they thought they could breed her and had legitimately no idea what they were doing? I don’t know. Guess I never will.
After Ripley had spent some time at a shelter getting food and medical care a family friend posted about her. We set up a meeting with the foster people and they brought her over. The second they came around the corner of our house Ripley walked up to me and climbed into my lap. It was as if she had always known me. There was pretty much no chance that we wouldn’t adopt her after that. So she joined our home in a nameless state. Alien or Aliens was on our TV and I suggested Ripley as a name for her. It stuck.
Yada yada yada, last week she developed a couple of hot spots and we took her to the vet. They gave us some steroids and shaved her back where the spots were so we could spray some sort of salve on the wounds. They also put her in a cone of shame. No dog has ever reacted worse to the cone of shame. She wouldn’t sit down and she kept crying.
After a couple of days with mostly normal Ripley behavior she started throwing up and became lethargic. We took her to an emergency vet and they said she seemed to be having an Addison’s crisis and probably had septic shock. And that’s where we’ve been for most of this week. She’s been in dog hospital ever since and our barely stable financial situation from a week ago is broken. Dog hospital is even more expensive than regular vet stuff. It sucks.
So, as embarrassing as it is for me to put this on RTARL (mostly for my own gruesome visage on the fundraising page) it is at least one more chance that my dog does not get repossessed for a failure to pay medical bills on her behalf. Thank you for your time on this post and all the other trash from over the years.
Listen to me when I say this to you. You will never be able to achieve the status of billionaires. They are beyond monetary worth. There is no amount of money that can accurately depict their worth. Green paper no longer means anything to them.
To put it a different way, back in the 1800s you could get what essentially was a “I’m trusted with money” letter from a bank back east and no matter where you went, banks would loan you money because you had that letter. You didn’t have to give them something of equal value, because that letter was enough insurance for them that you would pay them back. That, albeit overly simplified, is the type of status we’re talking about when it comes to billionaires. It doesn’t matter if they filed for bankruptcy or defaulted on some loans or committed heinous crimes.
Speaking of heinous crimes though, those usually go hand in hand with obtaining that status. So even past the concept of “I’ve always been rich so you can give me money and I’ll keep being rich,” there’s also a concept of “Give me money or else.”
So realistically, you’re never going to achieve the status. But maybe you can weasel your way in to the right place at the right time and get some dirt on someone, right? Well, even putting morals aside…do you really think you’ll ever be in a position where you’d be able to turn down a $500M pay out? That money will not bring you the status they have. It’s your one time pay out and they’ve already forgotten your face. That’s if you even get it lol
It’s so exhausting to hear a bunch of broke fucking losers yarn on about the right and wrong way to use food stamps. Yapping about how easy it is to get a job in a crashing economy. Straight flapping gums, talking about climbing the company ladder and pulling yourself up by your bootstraps.
Things are bad. Things will continue to be bad. But if nothing else, I will do my best to not contribute to the bad. I will do my best to donate what I can, be it time/money/resources. I will do my best to check in on my loved ones. I will do my best to be kind and caring in a world (or at least a country) that isn’t. Because at the end of the day, anyone telling you that poor people should be killed or kids should go hungry…IS NOT A GOOD PERSON.

Today I spent 3 euros to pitch in for my colleagues birthday present not to be a dick but I had only 9 euros on my account and I almost cried but it is okay I hope no one else has a birthday until the payday
