And finally, March in the Green 31: Kermit the Frog
Baby steps
I’m trying to waste less, especially plastic. Plastic-free July has made me very conscious of this & I’ve taken some steps including:
-buying all my produce from Trader Joe’s, as they switched out their plastic bags with biodegradable produce bags
-taking home the mailers we get at work (with my boss’s permission) so I can sell my old textbooks online- reuse of both the book & the mailer!
-reusing Ziploc bags instead of throwing them out
-bringing my to go coffee mug with me to work even if it’s empty so I can make coffee/tea without paper cups and plastic lids
-committing to myself that when I go somewhere & get a drink I’ll ask for no plastic lid & no straw
-buying sturdy, BPA-free food storage containers & cloth produce bags (thank you Amazon Prime Day!
-keeping paper bags in my car for those last-minute grocery store runs
I watched a Jenna Marbles video
..And I want to become a green screen now
You don’t have to go vegan to go sustainable.
You don’t have to go vegan to go mostly cruelty-free, just go sustainable. It doesn’t take giving up every part of that diet that you love to be reasonable and moderate. Meat isn’t a requirement, it’s a luxury, and something had to give its life to get on your plate. If you want to be kind to the animals that sacrificed this for you, and dislike the culling and cruelty in the egg industry, buy from local farms. Treat it with respect. Buy in moderation and be reasonable. You don’t have to give up everything to be kind, and you don’t have to go extreme to go sustainable. Thank you for reading.
It’s not easy being green!
My contribution to the March Copic challenge. YG17, YG23, G17, and a Copic multiliner brush pen.
Now that Scott Pruitt’s out at the EPA, it’s a little easier being green.
