On time~
Happy Sunday funday! If you know me I’m very organized and I’m always on time, if not 10 minutes early. Being on time helps me manage my anxiety, because when I’m not on time or I’m running late, my anxiety goes through the roof. Showing up on time to appointments, jobs, and class is very important to me and honestly its important to others. We all have busy schedules and when people run late it throws everyone off track, including the person who is late. Obviously, some days we can’t help it and we just run late. Yesterday was a perfect example of this. All day I knew that I had to be at a test shoot at 2:00 uptown, so I planned my day accordingly, went to the farmers market early in the morning to collect my produce and some pretty fall flowers, got all my homework done, had lunch and got ready for my shoot. All was going well and I was on time....until...as I was walking to the subway I realized I forgot my shoes for the shoot, so I had to turn around and get them. So I knew I would be 15 minutes late, and told the photographer. Then it all went wrong, I hopped on the wrong subway, had to walk blocks and avenues to a different subway. Hopped on an express subway which passed the stop I was supposed to be at. Slowly my anxiety began to rise. Ugh, now I was already 45 minutes late and far from where I needed to be. Eventually I made it to the shoot...an hour late and anxious. I apologized to the photographer, who honestly was totally fine about it, but I felt so bad. I hate it when people are late, especially an hour late!! The photographer reminded me that sometimes living in the city we just can’t control things and thats part of life. It was so nice of her to be so understanding. So yes people, obviously we try to be on time whenever we can, but sometimes life and obstacles get in the way and we can’t control it. Thats ok. Yes, we may get anxious, but in the end it will all work out. Thats life. We can’t be perfect all the time. Just thought I would share this with you. Moral of the story, try your best to be on time, but also understand that life throws obstacles at you and you just have to accept them and the possible anxiety that rises with them. Also! I got a response from the guy :) don’t know if I told you or not haha

Conversations pt. 31
Steve: Well, I gone done fucked up again, why can’t I do anything right?
God: What did you do wrong?
Steve: I keep coming in late and being late on my breaks, I don’t mean to, why do I do it?
God: Why is that a bad thing?
Steve: Because they expect me here on time and when I’m late I set a bad example to the employees that look up to me
God: Aren’t they late to?
Steve: Yeah, well not as much as me, apparently they use me as an excuse, “Why does Steve get to be late?” Why don’t they mind their own business!
God: How late are you?
Steve: Well, today I was five minutes late getting to work, but I’m usually one or two, and maybe one or two minutes late getting back from lunch or break.
God: Sounds like you’re putting in a lot of effort at always being one or two minutes late
Steve: I know! Right? It’d be so much easier if I just showed up earlier but I never do!
God: You know, this might not be as big of a deal as you’re making it…
Steve: I know! Right? Why do they have to make such a huge deal over one or two minutes, it doesn’t do any harm at all!
God: No, I’m saying you are making a big deal about it, you shouldn’t try so hard to be late
Steve: Wait, what? I try to be here on time!
God: Then why are you consistently late?
Steve: Wow, now that you put it that way, I’m not sure…
God: If you can be consistently late, you can be consistently on time, what you need to know is why you’d rather be late than on time
Steve: (After some contemplation) I’m angry, I guess, I just don’t care, if they want me to be a deviant, I guess I’ll just help them!
God: You are not a deviant, no matter how much you try, you are only a deviant to yourself
Steve: They hate me, I know they do, they won’t let me be
God: Everyone loves you, Steven, everyone who knows you loves you
Steve: Except me, I hate myself, I hate myself so much…
God: There is no reason to hate yourself any longer, there was never a reason and now you know this
Steve: You are the truth that opens my heart to see, being late isn’t a bad thing is it? It’s just their condemnation
God: It’s your condemnation and it is finished
