Gauntlets, Last Books, and Being Poor Doesn’t Leave You

My book comes out tomorrow. It’s the last book I have under contract and I’m never sure if I’ll sell another one.

That’s a hard truth for me. But I’ve had a pretty amazing run and hopefully it will continue.

Last night I had all these anxiety dreams about picking the wrong test option at school and not being able to find the page that I’m supposed to be on.

I saw her on @thedailyshow with @trevornoah and loved what she had to say. @oprah did raise me. If you watched this episode, you would understand what I mean. I was that kid coming home to nothing but a tv. My grandparents were home but they were not able to expose me to anything beyond our apartment walls. It was through the Oprah Show that I learned so much about others, and with that came the ability to think, analyze, question, and learn a world beyond my very limited own. To this day, I am fascinated with people’s stories, people’s journeys, and it’s why I grabbed this book. May we find our own and grow through the process, while reading about those who have their path path made clear. The problem with single pane uninsulated windows. We get so much draft in the winter/spring, and too much heat in the summer/fall. Will the landlords ever get this place up to date? Considering that we lived here for almost 25 years now, save the four year break after the divorce, and everything is still the same, I highly doubt it. They’ll either die or sell the place first, prolly both. It could be such a nice little place though, and for as much as I hate this apartment, I also have a fondness of it. Sometimes, I cry because tumblr shows me people who have 7 editions of my favourite books (all hardbound) because “one edition isn’t enough” and I have to skip lunch for a week and wait six months to buy the second hand paperback version of my favourite book.
