Yuri is blunt; he’s a raging fire full of surprises; a real, teasing demon with the face of an angel.

Otabek has known this since the moment Yuri decided to shove his hand in his mouth in front of hundreds of people without telling him first (if Otabek is being honest, he knew from the beginning that Yuri wouldn’t be satisfied with simply dragging his new best friend on the ice with him - he needed something more thrilling; he was chasing a high he knew would be hard, but not impossible, to reach).

Otabek tries not to smile when he listens to Yuri answering the reporter’s question, the golden medal around his neck crowning him as the fresh World Champion. His accent makes his English sharp and confident, determined just like the hand resting on top of Otabek’s knee under the table, hidden from the crowd gathered to the press conference.

Otabek is bitter that he lost to Yuri with less than a point, and he had let the younger man know that just before they stepped on the podium. Yuri had given him one of those adorable pouts of his and promised to make Otabek feel like the champion when they’ll get some privacy.

However, it doesn’t surprise Otabek when Yuri squeezes his knee gently and runs a finger slowly up on his thigh while smiling to the reporters, the glitter smeared all over his sidecut shining brightly when a camera flashes.

Yuri has always been the impatient one; a relentless force with poisonous tongue and piercing eyes.

Otabek bites the inside of his cheek when Yuri’s hand slides on his inner thigh and climbs up up up, almost too high. Then he stops and follows the same path back, the touch light like a feather.

He writes his own name on the inside of Otabek’s thigh with the tip of his finger, every letter closer and closer and closer--

A finger slips past the waistband of Otabek’s sweatpants at the same moment the lady leading the press conference tells them it’s time for the last question, and not a single reporter realizes the Russian Tiger just caught its prey in front of their eyes.
