Ranking veevees based on how annoying their cries are when they're upset:

9. Umbreon- their lower registers makes their pouting more grumbly than anything.

8. Flareon - more of a barker than a yowler. Lower register, but man does it travel.

7. Leafeon - higher register, but thankfully their cries don't get too loud.

6. Eevee - the worst thing is that they just won't stop barking. It's a higher pitch. Their little lungs don't allow for too much long, drawn-out yowling, but they'll make it up with non-stop barks.

5. Sylveon - higher pitch register, thankfully has a airy tone. "But Bela, why is it ranked higher then?" Because a truly upset sylveon can sharpen those airy cries into ear piercing barks that go right through your headphones.

4. Espeon - yowls and yowls. Long sustained cries. Sounds like an injured child.

3. Vaporeon - yowls sound more like shrieks. Their voice will basically never go hoarse so I have dealt with a disgruntled vapreon crying for 8 hours straight, only stopping when given food

2. Jolteon - you've never been in hell until you've heard an upset jolteon. They basically scream and they scream LOUD. Long, drawn out screaming yowls that gets the neighbors calling the local officer Jenny on you only did it turn out you were trying to brush them.

1. Glaceon - similar to jolteon, but their voice rises to the most ear piercing pitch. They are LOUD. Their barks will make you flinch. They yowl and screech. The most high-pitched cries out of any of the others. Headphones cannot save you.

"Why is my buneary changing colors? Is it dying/stressed/getting old?"

You may have an arctic buneary! During the warmer seasons, an arctic buneary is nearly indistinguishable from the common buneary. They tend to be bigger, have darker noses, more gray looking creams, and a more lean body. They're stronger than the common buneary, making them popular for competitive battling.

However, once it's winter (or they're brought to a cold climate), they'll grow thick, white fur, completely replacing their browns and creams! They look like little cotton balls and can be so easy to mistake for a pile of snow.

Some people wrongly identify them as albino buneary. While not all albinos have red eyes, buneary do!

Once it warms up, they'll start shedding their white fur. You can try to groom them to help, but they can act like toddlers over it, so be warned.

One of the most fascinating aspects to me about the Alolan line of vulpix is how QUICK they adapted. Most people don't even know they for a brief period of time, they were normal type!

Vulpix and ninetales weren't originally from Alola. They came over with traveling humans from Kanto but found themselves quickly outcompeted by pokemon native to the Islands. Going up the mountains provided better refuge against attacking pokemon. However, the type advantage over ice-type pokemon provided very little help. Using their flames lowers their internal temperature, making them more vulnerable to the cold.

We can tell from old bones and specimen trapped in ice that most vulpix rarely grew more than one tail. Most vulpix during this time period died young.

The vulpix and ninetales that lived were the ones who didn't use their flames. So! The fire-typing was eventually dropped, and they developed and expanded their move set.

We can see from preserved vulpix and ninetales that these normal variants had fluffier tails and duller colors, browner and grayer. The normal-type ninetales in particular had a VERY thick and fluffy mane compared to the Kantonian and modern Alolan ninetales, likely to keep themselves warm.

This normal type variant disappeared VERY quick as they developed the ice-typing not too longer afterwards, returning to a sleeker body with curlier fur that we now know.

Hello! Friendly reminder that if you're going to get a buneary, PLEASE learn about their body language. Buneary, especially if they're wild-caught or poorly socialized from a bad breeder, can be very temperamental and spiteful! Their popularity as pets means that breeders don't always have their best interests at heart, or trainers catch them thinking they got a cute new friend. Sorry to break it to you, but wild buneary hate you with the passion of a spiteful God.

A LOT of their body language is shown through their ears!

One ear curled, one up

This is the most common position you'll see a buneary in. Since they're prey animals, they'll nearly always have one ear curled up in case they need to hit something. This doesn't mean they don't trust you, but ALSO doesn't mean they're fully content or not weary of you. Consider it neutral to positive learning. If nothing else, your buneary is feeling confident in it's ability to protect itself.

Unless it's extremely cold or windy, this is an EXTREMELY BAD SIGN! Even when asleep one ear should stay up. Your buneary is defensive! This might mean that it's sick or feels extremely unsafe in their current environment or with the people/Pokémon around it. Do not attempt to pick up the buneary, a hit from it's ears can literally break your bones. If it won't come to you, please transport it in a pokéball, its the safest option for everyone involved.

One curled, one half raised

Still bad! This might mean you have a spooked buneary where it might not totally sure if it's in danger or not and doesn't want to sacrifice too much hearing. If your buneary is friendly with you, but has it's ears like this, they might have anxiety or feeling confused. Might be a sign it's getting unwell.

Both up

A buneary might briefly raise both its ears to hear better, but if they stay up, it's typically a sign if great trust! It's ears are it's weapons, uncurled ears means they feel completely safe, enough so to overwrite their prey-instincts to be prepared to protect itself.

Daily reminder to do research before you get a Pokémon ft. PLEASE KNOW IF THEY SHOULD BE IN PAIRS.

There's plenty of Pokémon that are fine solo (most of the eeveelutions, for example, though wild vaporeon tend to form pods), but there's also a LOT of Pokémon that need a friend they can communicate and play with in a way you can't provide as a human.

It's honestly super fascinating! Pokémon from completely different lines and typings can pair well together, and you can even find an unlikely bond form between two Pokémon that shouldn't "work", but please please do a little research into it.
