Another suggestion along those same lines (strong female lead with proper anatomy) is my favorite small-press comic American Dark Age, from Megabrain Comics, about a punk rock singer who picks up a sword and full armor (not just a metal thong) when all technology on the planet mysteriously stops one day. They put out their first issue last year, and just finished funding #2 through Kickstarter a couple months ago. You might be able to pick up a copy of #1 through their website, and it might still be available for free on Graphicly. If you live anywhere near New Jersey, they'll be at the Asbury Park Comic Con tomorrow as well.
