de Molen Heen & Weer Triple (Picked up at an Albert Heijn in Amsterdam). A 3 of 4. Has the exact nose you’d expect for a Belgian Triple with lots of spice and bananas and some honey-like sweetness in the background. On the sweet side of things and a bit maltier than I was expecting, but is still pretty good for the style.
Conshohocken’s Tripel Deke (Picked up at a Weis in PA). A 3 of 4. A good, classic Belgian-style triple. The nose is full of banana and spice and everything you’d expect. A lot of wheat-like grain notes, too, and quite a bit of sweetness. A touch cloying in places, but the complexity of the yeast is good, and it’s a little bit sticky on the palate. Solid in the style.

How is it? Now that’s Belgian! This has that very recognizable Belgian flavour to it; grassy and earthy. The name and style make me expect a little more hopiness, but I couldn’t find any significant hop characters. Like many of Moon’s beer it tastes quire European and definitely delicious.
