Last night I went out with a bunch of friends to local brewery and pub in town called Madison Brewing Company. They brew all their beers on location and the food is delicious. Usually when I go there I grab for the Belgian Wheat (which they call Wassick's White Wall) but since it is Fall I thought I would go for something more Fall-like. Their menu has a lot of different beers all for a really reasonable price so it can be difficult to choose but I finally went for the Bucks Honey Wheat.
It was delicious. Very smooth with a subtle nutty flavor. Sweet and the perfect golden brown. I am a fan of sweet beers with just a twinge of bitterness in the background so this was perfect. Right off the tap too, cannot do better than that. About halfway down the glass I plopped the lime in and that only brought out the flavor more.
But remember what I said about there being too many beers to choose from? Well there is the answer to your problems. My friend got the "Sampler" (it's kind of legendary around here, no big deal). 7 samples of their most popular beers, including their current seasonal. For $8, it's a great deal. You get a taste of everything and get to see what your favorite is (she really liked the Honey Wheat too).
I sipped some of her sampler and noticed it was really spicy and delicious, so for the second round I asked our waitress if I could try the seasonal. She said there wasn't one right now but upon going downstairs found out that they had literally just put a new seasonal on tap. So I got this wonderful spicey Oktoberfest beer totally new and fresh. Delicious. It tasted almost like a pumpkin beer; it wasn't very light either, there was definitely a heaviness to it that made the spiciness perfectly subtle.
Of course, for food I had a bison burger, and I just have to share with all of you because it was very good:
