Coffee, wine and pumpkin. Bourbon Barrel Hellfighter Imperial Porter with Espresso and Nigel 016 Barleywine Style Ale Aged in Oak Barrels from Karbach Brewing. Pumpkin themed flight from Tiger Tavern with Pumpkinator Imperial Pumpkin Stout from Saint Arnold Brewing, Rumpkyn Barrel Aged Pumpkin Ale 16.9% from Avery Brewing, Warlock Pumpkin Stout from Southern Tier Brewing and, not pumpkin, Frieze IPA from Urban South. It's still hot as shit here.
Avery’s Chai High (Picked up at Total Wine). A 3 of 4. The nose is huge and has some incredible depth -- tons of spice notes and lots of holiday qualities. Some dark sugar candy like notes in the body and quite a bit more spice. Relatively thin, and finishes dry. Smells great, but the body is a bit lacking in heft -- some malt sweetness would do this well.
Went hiking with my two best friends yesterday. Had a fantastic time hiking and hitting up Avery brewing company before ending our adventure!
Avery tap takeover at the local craft brew bar. We made a list of the beers on the list we haven't drank. And we are checking them off. Also, we are those people that bring our own pretzels almost everywhere
Sierra Nevada’s Beer Camp Dry-Hopped Barleywine with Avery (Picked up at Bev-Mo). A 3 of 4. A blend of their two great barleywines, this is quite good -- it has a big herbal and pine nose with plenty of resin and caramel sweetness in the background. Some rich malty sweetness up front is quickly cut by a relatively aggressive bitterness, and finishes with just a bit of residual bitterness. The alcohol stays hidden, and this is really nicely balanced yet with an aggressive hop bite throughout.
