No because.... What if I write the Aaron/Haley/Reader fic???? What then? 🙄‼️
It's a complicated situation, the three of you. You met Haley between one of the many breaks that she and Aaron took. It didn't go anywhere at the time seeing as she was your mentor but it was the beginning of your friendship and you became fast and close friends due to shared interests and compatible schedules. You met Aaron not long after because she ended getting back with him.
As time passed, you found yourself intrinsically tied to them, never too far away and always at hand. The three of you are really great friends, there's nothing more.
A sneak peak of what's to come 💖
So I finished Code of Claw and I have Thoughts!!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: The Warrior did die, literally. Ares, Gregor’s other half, died. Bonds are seen as the other half of a person, and Gregor’s Warrior persona and skillset grew with Ares, and was so linked with him, that when Ares died, part of Gregor did too.
Also, there is absolutely no way his family can move to Virginia. I’m absolutely positive that Gregor has insane PTSD, and so many of his core experiences happened in the underland. He’ll never be able to forget, and he’ll probably never be able to truly adjust to normal life. Like Gregor said, Boots will be fine because she’s three, but his dad also has some severe PTSD, and Lizzie also won’t be able to forget the underland. Grace is the only one that isn’t attached to the underland.
Maybe they’ll go to Virginia for a bit, but Gregor will probably walk through the world numb and he’ll either have a breakdown or end up back in the underland (which I’m sure is what all of us would prefer). Lizzie literally says “I don’t want to go to Virginia.” When Gregor’s dad asked him what he wanted, he said he didn’t care where they lived, and that “it would be awful wherever he was.” It would be awful in the underland too, because he’s still grieving and processing, but it would be better, and it would get better. He wants to live there, he feels like he belongs.
And now for some headcanons: Gregor does go back to the underland, and his family comes with him. Grace isn’t too happy about it, but everyone else wants to go and she’s not letting their family break up again. Now that bonding with other species is a thing, he bonds to Lapblood. Maybe Gregor does bond with another flyer, maybe not. Hazard basically has a bond in every species, and Boots bonds with Temp as soon as she can.
Luxa becomes an excellent queen, but she and Gregor decide to just be friends, at least for now. She has a lot to focus on, and Gregor is trying to figure out who he is, now that he’s not the warrior. He ends up being a really great teacher, and ends up teaching kids in fighting, but mostly in other things.
There are a lot of expeditions to the uncharted lands, in an effort to map them and discover more things. There’s another group of humans there, pretty far out, but they’re there. There’s also more entrances to the overland there, and maybe there are more overlanders in those new groups of humans, and maybe they travel freely from the overland to the underland. My personal favorite is that the new groups of humans don’t have bats, they have giant birds.
There is a peace, at least for a while.
***** personal post warning *****
I’m generally pretty private on here, but the last few days really got me to thinking and I just wanted to get a few things off my chest.
A few years ago I was diagnosed with a condition that slowly started to worsen, leading up to a rupture in my intestinal wall that landed me in intensive care with septic shock and organ failure last December. I’m blessed to be one of the lucky ones that got to go home with my life, but the road to recovery has been long, unpredictable, and a little scary, to say the least.
Since December I’ve been in and out of the hospital for various check-ups, complications, and everything in-between, but my most recent stay also happened to overlap with a milestone birthday for me. That day one of the nurses (bless her heart) asked me if I wanted her to read any messages from my phone in case there were any special texts or anything, and she happened to see a bunch of Discord notifications (yay, Sorato server!). At first she didn’t understand those weren’t personal messages to me (“you’re so popular!” 😂), so I ended up explaining to her a little about Discord and the Sorato server and then Tumblr and the Digimon and Sorato fandoms and at the end of it all, it just kinda hit differently that you guys really hold a special place in my heart. Like I knew you all meant a lot to me, but there was a small voice that kept telling me I would hate it if I left this earth without telling you guys how much your friendship, your posts, your creativity, and your general amazingness has meant to me. You’ve gotten me through dark times, kept me in high spirits when I needed it most, and ultimately made me feel like I’d always have a special place in this world where I belonged, and to everyone who I’ve interacted with here on Tumblr, whether only once or a thousand times, just know that I love you dearly and I am thankful that our paths have crossed.
