The Complete Chaos that was also known as Cycle 22 of America’s Next Top Model // ANTM, S22, 2015
13. Bella
My call-out average: 8.57
Panel call-out average: 6.17
Bella just wasn’t a model to me. She was too short and she didn’t have the best proportions for modeling clothes (her failure in the go-sees challenge further supports this). She could’ve made up for it by producing stellar photos but she did not do so. The only shots I actually somewhat liked from her (Bound Pairs and Dogs) were pictures that primarily focused on her face; when her body was part of the equation the pictures fell completely flat. Based on modeling skills/potential I personally think that Bella’s place in the cast was questionable and she outstayed her welcome by several weeks. Bella was definitely a great TV character though. She clearly understood the in’s and out’s of being on a reality show and dialed up the drama from day one in order to stand out from the crowd. From wearing a crown/graduation gown at casting, to screaming at Devin and Mikey, to her dramatic “I’m sorry, I can’t” elimination breakdown, Bella was always at the forefront of the drama in the first half of the cycle. This may have backfired a bit though, since the show treated her as a joke on occasion (possessed dehydrated apple anyone?). Bella’s heightened drama queen antics were somewhat entertaining at times, but overall she was just an annoyance.

This is definitely Bella’s best photo to date and one of the only times I took her seriously as a model, but it’s still just middle of the pack. She’s giving some good intensity with her face and the sportsy hoodie kind of gives this a knockoff Nike advertisement feel. However, nothing about this shot really stands out to me and that beautiful husky is sort of stealing the show. Bella gave a decent but forgettable shot.

Bella actually has a solid face shot here: she looks blank yet still present enough to be a doll. The rocker hand is a nice detail as well, but otherwise I don’t like anything else here. The styling is horrendous, and Bella’s choice to tilt over slightly is throwing her proportions out of whack. Her lack of height has never been more apparent, and the way she’s holding the guitar looks awkward. Bella’s shot is definitely stronger than Courtney’s, but I’m glad she fell victim to the double elimination as well. Her portfolio was lackluster and her minimal potential made her dead weight at this point.

Tyra was nuts for giving Bella a 10, but her take wasn’t a colossal train wreck like I was expecting it to be. Her start was pretty awkward and she toed the line of venturing into Devin territory, but she held back just enough. I liked the way she leaned in on “triple action” and how she delivered the “and your abs fierce” line. If she had connected with Courtney better (she looked slightly repulsed at times) this would’ve been way more successful.
10. Bella
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Okay now that that’s out of the way, I can at least give Bella props for nailing the possession portion of the shoot (which is the only thing pushing him above Ashley), even though she failed in every other aspect. Her face is honestly appalling, she’s totally serving dehydrated apple realness. Her butt as the star of the shot is the nail in the coffin. I’m just confused why this shot was chosen as if to sabotage her, yet she wasn’t even in the bottom 2.
11. Bella
I don’t get this photo at all. Bella’s pose makes her look super squat and tiny, plus her head looks freaking gigantic. Her eyes are really weak and there’s no life in her expression at all. I guess the hair flip is kinda neat, but otherwise there’s not much to praise here. In a week of mostly decent photos, Bella slips to the bottom 2.
10. Bella
Bella lost the fashion aspect completely. Her over-the-top split is taking away her height and distorting the clothes. She’s blatantly ignoring the veteran as well. The saving grace is that her face is super strong here, but it’s not enough to make me like this photo. Another confusingly high call-out this week.
