Day 134 Status Citra Saisons and Diet Root Beer
Day 134 Status Citra Saisons and Diet Root Beer
Switched back from blow-offs to airlocks
A quick update on my current projects: 1) Diet Root Beer. I prepared a replacement cap for my test bottle, I opened the tester and heard a slight CO2 escape. I poured a very small amount in a glass. There were very few bubbles. The soda was obviously undercarbed, but had some…hopefully, that will continue to increase! The flavor was strong on the root beer…

Day 133 Brew Day! Citra Saison with Harvested Yeast Starter
Day 133 Brew Day! Citra Saison with Harvested Yeast Starter
Setting up for brewing

Bought this beer by the québequoise brasserie À l'arbri de la tempête at a delightful épicerie near the Marché Jean Talon called Le Marche des Saveurs du Québec, where I picked up 3 other seasonals to be documented at a later date. Belle Saison is, according to the website, comme une gorgée de soleil (like a gulp of sunshine). It is floral and light, definitely sunny, but with a touch of bitterness. Very drinkable and very refreshing.
