Hey!! I am pretty sure you just have read “Evolution” by Pie (Pottereresque_ire), if not you absolutely must!! This is a genius story with a fantastic interplay between Darwinian evolution and HP plot!! I am a big fan of @pie’s writing! This is one of my absolute favorite stories EVER!!

I’m doing very well thank you and hope you are too! I also love indulging in all the fandom fun that happens over the holidays. It’s so much fun seeing the things people create across all fandoms and the wide variety of work that gets posted in the festive fests, plus the brilliant advent fics people work so hard on. I’m already having a blast and we’re only a couple of days into December <3

5. What was the hardest part to write?

You know, oddly enough this was another one that just poured out of me, maybe because I'd been thinking about it for months, ever since talking about this scenerio with @femmequixotic , @noeeon and @o0o-chibaken-o0o . The writing was, mostly, a joy. I think the hardest part was maybe how it brought up so many emotions for me, you know? I really felt for Harry in this, his conflict, his grief. There's a scene in which his laughter comes out tears and Draco comforts him, and I wrote that with tears in my eyes too. I feel like it's one of the most...idk, true fics I've written, and truth (any kind of truth) can be hard to write because you always connect with it, sometimes too deeply.

14. Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from this fic?

Guh... I wish I was deep enough to say yes, that I think about things like that beforehand. But I... don't? If my fics have any educational value about any issues, it's usually because I'm working them out in my own head and heart as I write them. After the fact, I can see what could be learned from LHM - how messy nature of love can be, and how that still doesn't have to detract from its importance in any way, things about choices, but I can't say I went into writing it with any of that it mind. That's just the way the first developed because...that's how it wanted to. Like it had things to tell me, too. Mainly, I was writing it to please a friend for her birthday and just felt fortunate that it turned into something I loved so much.

I love your writing style, I love your stories. I love your characterization of Draco and Harry (especially). I have read all your stories with the exception of the new series you began. I just barely started Lost in your Arms! 🙏🏼I just wanted to say that I *love*, just *love* this Hermione! 😍and her friendship with Harry! I promised myself this gift (LIYA) if I met my goals(I had set for myself). I did! So here I am reading and just being happy! Thank you! 🙏🏼

OMG, my dear, that’s lovely for you to say! I have such a soft spot in my heart for Hermione, but I sometimes feel like the way I see Hermione is so very different from how fandom sees her, lol. I really love an imperfect Hermione, a Hermione who makes mistakes and gets a little bossy and know-it-all to the point where her friends might get a little frustrated the way Harry occasionally does with her in Special Branch. 

Sometimes Hermione steps on people’s toes without realizing she has, but she loves her friends so much, and she’s so fiercely loyal to them that when she realizes she’s hurt them she tries to fix things. And sometimes that makes things better and sometimes it makes things worse because she’s human, and like all humans she has her blind spots. And she can be spot-on at times with what she thinks her friends should do, and completely wrong at others, and I love her so much for both! 

I think there’s a tendency in fandom to Ravenclaw-ize Hermione and to focus primarily on how smart she is, how good of a student, how much she loves to learn. And that’s a huge part of her, but Hermione was sorted Gryffindor for a reason, and I think you see some of that in her certainty that she knows what’s best for everyone and if only they’d listen everything would be so much easier! And maybe she’s not half-wrong, but maybe she’s not half-right either. She’s such a complex and interesting character to play around with, and I really like interpretations of Hermione that give her that depth that she doesn’t always get in canon. She’s not perfect. She can be terribly cruel at times, whether on purpose or accidentally. But she’s funny and she’s brilliant and she can hold her own against strong personalities like Harry and Ron, and grow alongside of them. 

Honestly? I love Hermione Granger a hell of a lot.

"Stop All the Clocks" was the very first #drarry I read and I remember distinctly the time of the day I read. My entire household was asleep and in that silence I read this story. I shattered as I read, had to stuff the quilt to stop making any sounds (of weeping) while I read. It is etched in my psyche for ever. You *know* grief in ways I cannot explain. #asks #ask firethesound a question

Ah, that fic is far and away the most personal thing I’ve ever written. And it’s still so incredible to me to see how strongly people have connected with it. Thank you <3 <3 <3
