okay but we missed out on interactions with these two - what with Bell's absence in A Diabolical Kind and Natalie Dormer not returning as Moriarty (alas)
I mean think about it...
at first I reckon it would be relatively light-hearted; Marcus would make jokes about the whole 'crazy ex-girlfriend' thing in the way that no one else would dare to.
his reaction to her theatrics and sense of humor would probably be the same as his reaction to Sherlock - just slightly bewildered 😂
ultimately, she wouldn't be able to psych him out as easily as others. Marcus doesn't love her like Sherlock, need her like Gregson or share the odd kind of respect Joan has for her.
I'm not sure when this would shift... perhaps after a conversation with Sherlock about how much she's hurt him? or he realises the severity of whatever crime she's been pulled in for?
whatever way it came out, he would feel such anger and hatred for her and we would get to see more of Bell's protective side 🥺
it would just have been such an interesting dynamic and it's sad we never got to see it
So wait. Bell and Holmes started dating. Then Bell got shot. They fought and distanced themselves from each other. Bell said "You misunderstood our relationship." Then they fought again and Sherlock reminded him to look past the well crafted fassade and remember that Sherlock is a recovering addict and that he fought to get to this stage. Basically implying Marcus could do it too. Then Marcus did fight his way back and now they're going out for coffee after Marcus had a bad day and didn't feel ready for his welcome back party? They're lovers. They're actual lovers and I didn't notice the first time.
Sherlock has been in love with Marcus since Season One?
sherlock and marcus having a cute zoo date 🥰
the beginning of elementary's s3 is soooo sherlockxmarcus heavy, first marcus literally cannot take his eyes of sherlock and then sherlock saves marcus and holds on to him for dear life!!!!!
listen. listen listen listen. marcus saying that Stryder is the “second dumbest name he’s ever heard”? that implies that Sherlock is first dumbest name Marcus has ever heard. it also hints at how Sherlock has changed his life and career, and how some dude named Stryder is about to change Marcus’ life again.
like, that’s not just some sneaky flirting, tv romance PEAKED at that point.
