Try Before You Buy

It’s really hard to find what suits your skin. Believe me, been there and still there.

Up to this day, I am searching for the best products that will work for me. From hair care, skin care, and make-up products, name it and let me try it. In lieu with that, sometimes I tend to pay for some products that don’t work out on me. And who wants to pay for things that you can’t even use again because you’ll just have an acne breakout or allergies? No one, right?

And thank heavens that I stumbled upon Sample Room’s Instagram page. Sample Room is the first ever beauty, health, and lifestyle digital sampling and review website in the Philippines! It combines the service of sampling and digital marketing campaigns. Through Sample Room, I can get samples of products that I want to give a chance and the good thing? The products are free, and I just need to register, and pay the shipping and handling fee! What’s even better is that, as I try out some products, I will earn points whenever I post a review of a product, that I can use again to avail samples. And the best part? Sample Room rewards its active members with prizes, a chance to be featured as their “Roommate of the Month”, and be invited to their events as a VIP guest. But, there’s still more! They also have exciting contests with amazing prizes where roommates (it’s what they call their members) can join! Too good to be true? Well, it’s not! Lemme share you my experience with them for this year.

It’s almost a year since I’ve been a roommate and I can still remember the first package that I received from Sample Room. It was the Pantene’s Summer Rescue Shampoo and Conditioner! (You can read my review about it here) It also came with a cute tote bag, perfect for the beach!

And, I was impressed on how they put effort on the packaging and managed to give me a freebie, even though it’s already free. What more can you ask for?

Then, it was followed by Belo’s BB Body Cream.

It came in a cute paper bag. This one is for instant flawless arms and legs! 

Little did I knew that this product will give luck to me! Just like what I’ve mentioned earlier, they conduct contests, and because I wanted to try my luck, I joined in their #FlawlessInAFlash Instagram Contest. Luckily, I was one of the three winners!!!

Honestly, there was a lot of creative entries but I didn’t lose hope. I believed in myself. In fact, my entry doesn’t have the most views, and comments, but hey, I won! It simply means that with strong will and hard work (because it took us like more than ten times to shoot the spraying thingy), it makes the dream work!

The last one was a Whisper box. (Of course, the packaging was cute again!) 

It contains one pack each of Whisper’s Cottony Clean and Cottony XX Long 36cm. Where I won’t worry throughout the day, and can proudly say “#AllDayNoCheck!”. And achieve my #SleepGoals with it’s extended pads.

To sum it up, coming across Sample Room was one of the best things that happened to me this year. First, it saved me a lot of time and money from impulsively buying products that I want to try. As a student, spending was one of my major problems. You know, you need to maximize your allowance. Second, it taught me to believe in myself and be myself. Through their contests, I can express my thoughts, and show off my skills. I would also like to thank them for appreciating my effort in my entry. This really boosted my self-confidence. Lastly, I got to know some roommates and made friends with them!

I am unclear as to how this is just a tinted #sunscreen or for medium to deep skin tones, of course that in itself should clear up my doubt of this product as being merely tinted.
