contents: gn!reader. sad yuji, mentions of death, fire, angst, not proofread
an: omg yes like imagine him coming home after he couldn't save someone bruh i can't not write angst or hurt/comfort rn i'm just down so my writing keeps reflecting that, but this has given me a smut idea
yuji wasn't speaking. or, he hadn't spoken in a few hours. obviously, weird behaviour from him, right? right.
there were three possible reasons as to why.
1. he was really into you touching his hair.
understandable, since he was laying on his side, face buried into your stomach as your nails lightly scratched his scalp with each run of your fingers through his short, pink hair.
2. he was tired.
also possible, as firefighting is tough work and takes a lot of physical and mental strength.
3. he was kicking himself for "not doing his job well enough".
the most likely, the one you'd assumed from the start. you knew he'd been down since he'd gotten home, he'd even called you in the car on the way back whilst crying and you'd had to calm him down over the phone. thank god he'd pulled over to the side of the road or you weren't sure if your boyfriend would have even made it back.
he'd explained how he'd been evacuating people from a housefire, and the mother had been ushering the kids out with the firefighters. the father had gotten himself out first, not thinking of his children or wife. right as yuji had been going back in to get her out, the roof had collapsed in and crushed her.
now, you're left to run your fingers through his hair, praying that he thought a death by fire was a respectable one for a mother that he'd failed to save, because you didn't want to think about what he might do to himself if he doesn't.
with every soft murmur of "i love you, and i hope you know that i'm proud of you. for being so strong," your beautiful boy nods, staying silent as you feel his tears trickle onto your stomach and thighs.
okay okay okay- You've done portal fuck, now it's time for portal *stuck*!
What's the premise?
Dealer's choice!
As long as whoever is getting fucked is portal stuck! As for who fucks the poor soul stuck in the portal, it could be a party of adventurers, monsters, a group of friends, hell- it could be a group of strangers! Whatever your nerdy little heart desires :3
with love <3, 🦴
(does this count as an anon attack towards *you*? nfufufu)

You’re not sure why the House Batini magister was so antsy about things. Teleportation is easy work. You just reach in between the folds of reality with your knife, make a tiny cut and step on through. No blind jumping, no fiddly co-location, just a doorway from one place to the next. Easy as pie.
That's what went through your mind, standing in this alley. Flame-bladed ritual dagger in hand, though in truth the ritual could be done with a sharp piece of broken glass if needed. You pictured your destination, the sitting room in your flat. Slowly waving the dagger through the air, feeling the tip catch the strands making up here before pushing it forwards into there. To a willworker, reality bends into the shape of desire. The concept of distance is no different. Just because your apartment is forty miles away and twenty stories up, doesn't mean you can't open a door to it here.
You could already smell the incense clinging to your furniture. A moment more and you’d be home, putting the kettle on and making a start on dinner.
That was the plan anyway.
What you didn't plan on was for someone to turn the corner, suddenly on the same alleyway as you. The spell started to waver, the sleeper’s perception of what they believed to be impossible forcing the consensus back onto you. You had seconds, maybe less. Either stop the spell and risk whatever paradox backlash you’d incur, or drive onwards.
Of course, the latter seemed like the best idea at the time. There was enough of a gap to push your head and shoulders through, you just needed to roll forwards and you’d make a somewhat clumsy transference, but it would work.
You were already halfway in. If it doesn't work, then you've got big problems.
Your feet slipped out of the world, one shoe slipping off in the process. The only issue was, you were still only up to your waist in your apartment. Getting spotted disappearing through a gap in the world always has unforeseen consequences, but getting stuck halfway through was a new one. You kicked your legs, trying to grab at something in your room to drag yourself through to the real world. You couldn't reach anything, suspended in midair on the rim of a hole in reality. You’re just glad the edge isn't sharp.
Not the end of the world. Regular teleportation is still an option. You're not blind hopping if you can literally see where you're aiming, you just need to gather yourself. If you spend all your time cutting holes in space and stepping through, the whole disappearing act is a little tricky. Like playing the mandolin if you've only ever practiced the electric bass: there's some commonality, but it’s still a different ask. You closed your eyes, visualising yourself on the other side of the room, clinging to the ritual dagger in your hands.
Something touched you.
You dropped the dagger. The clattering snapped you out of your focus.
It touched you again. Something brushing against your leg, like a shark in murky water. Your stomach flipped. You weren’t in the mood to become dinner. Heart racing you screwed your eyes shut again. No dagger, eyeballing a spell you weren’t used to, trying to ignore whatever it was that kept brushing against your lower half. Again, visualising yourself standing on the other end of the room. Very much uneaten, standing there, absolutely zero percent eaten.
You felt a rush of power through your body. A sudden draft, then stillness. You opened your eyes just in time to see your clothes landing in a heap. Exactly where you had wanted them to appear, just ideally still containing you.
Whatever it was brushed against you again. Without the protection of your jeans, you could feel it. Cold, slimy, undulating in the space you found yourself stuck. It felt you too. A tendril wrapped around your ankle, pulling at your leg. Another caught the other leg, then a mass of them forced themselves against you.
The writhing mass wrapped itself around your lower half, covering you in slime from the waist down. A roiling jumble of cold, undulating limbs probing and rolling over your skin. You twisted and turned, the relief of not being eaten alive mingling with the disconcerting feeling of the tendrils exploring your body. Prodding and sliding over every curve and crevice.
You gasped. It pulled your legs further apart, burying itself in the sensitive skin between your thighs. A questing tendril found its way to the soft folds of your cunt. The ever-present slime coated you in a sheen of slippery wet. Aided by this, the tendril plunged inside, then another, and another, each questing to and fro. Your gasp turned to a shaking groan. More tendrils joined them, each moving over and past the others. Another tendril found your ass. Aided by more of the slime, it pressed against the puckered hole, wriggling to and fro before gaining purchase and slipping inside.
Half a dozen of them inside you, twisting and wriggling. Your eyes screwed shut again, mouth hanging open, fists clenched against the feeling of them inside you.
You couldn't stop it. Your body working against you, tension building and releasing. Each time more intense than the last, rolling waves of pleasure crashing against your composure. Your breath caught in your throat, then released in a groaning wail.
Your body clenching around the creature spurred it onward. Pushing harder, moving faster. It had hold of you completely now, trying to force more of itself into you, slipping around your body, unable to gain purchase on your skin.
It pushed harder. Your hips straining the edge of the portal, then slipping through. Unable to gain purchase on your legs, the beast slid off you, squeezing the rest of you back into the real world only to fall in an undignified heap.
Struggling to your knees, you pinched shut the slit in the world. The portal closed smoothly. Reality reasserted itself.
You needed a shower.

It's the end of the episode, you know what that means?
I'm sorry to ask dear prince but you.. got yourself off last night.. to help you sleep. And this was in @evilbaron s dungeon?? Am I getting that correct??
I headcanon tha America learned how to paint because of Bob Ross
OMG YES!!!! And then he’d be laser focused on every detail only for him to need and scroll back cuz he was so dedicated to listening that he forgot to pay attention to the actual drawing
just here to say im rereading dirges for like the 5th time (literally peak in all senses, i especially love how much research went into making it historically accurate) and i just LOVE the tailoring scene of scott intentionally trying to make tango jealous
the switch up between "youre clear as glass" to "ive changed my mind, you've been clear as mud" is just too good
although on the reread i swear i remember getting tango's POV of that too but i cant find it in the fic for the life of me and im starting to think i dreamt it up LOL
anyways all thats to say i love your writing and how much detail youre able to fit into every character interaction no matter how small, its incredible!!
AHHHH hi!! ty 💖 highkey the research has consumed my life, I know SO much about the old west now that it leaks into irl conversations XD I am so glad other people enjoy that aspect of it as much as I enjoyed doing it!!!
AHH Oh I'm SO glad you said that!! it's one of the lines that made me giggle when I put it on the page and then every edit after!!
and GOSH that was a scene that I had a vision of WAY back at the very start. I love a good sprinkling of a jealousy scene, and in my mind the only person who would do something like that in Dirges was Scott.
Hilariously I think the very very first draft of that scene (the one in my head, not on paper RIP) was from Tango's POV! I know that there's a callback to it in a later chapter, when Tango's thinking about Scott giving him that nudge when he goes back into the shop, and Stiggy knows that I have their dialogue loosely written out in a comment in the All Chapter doc so I knew what happened once Jimmy was left standing in the street (LOL)
Actually...
Boom, straight from the All Chapter doc
Now, if I'd written it from Tango's POV that dialogue might have been subject to change, but I wanted to at least have a little idea of what was happening in there while Jimmy was left alone XD
The callback is this line here:
but alas it sounds like the Tango POV of the tailor shop scene exists only in our minds XD I'd love to hear how you envisioned it!
Thank you for sending this! :D and thank you for reading (five times!!and if I cry over that everyone pretend not to notice 😭) the character interactions are highkey my favorite bits to write so!! ahh thank you <3333
Hey! I've been following you for a bit now, and I just wanted to tell you just how much you've done to inspire me! I've been in an art rut for years now, and while I've only gone as far as semi-lit RP (that ive also since fallen off of), your work has given me back that creative itch I havent felt in a long time. I love Fate-Touched! I love Lilli and Miraak! I love seeing your art! I want to sit and make my own again. I want to sit and write fic in a way I thought I never would, or could.
I've only ever used social media to browse, and never actually to post or engage with other people's work, and the last time I proactively used my tumblr was back in like. 2015. But I thought it was about time to start telling my favorite creators how much I love and appreciate their work!
Have a wonderful day! 🫶
Where do I even begin with such a kind comment???
oh anon, this means a lot more than I can say. It’s always an honor anytime someone tells me my work inspires them — something I still try to wrap my head around lol I hope inspiration keeps you and you get to work on whatever you want!!!
Also, thank you for loving my fic and art enough to send this!! I’ve been pretty burnt out from kinktober (which has 13 days left orz) and I've been doubting my main fic lately. So your message comes at a time when I need a reminder of why I do art/writing and share it <3 Been needing that nudge (or a massive shove) to get back into the main fic and start writing again.
my ask box is always open to someone as kind as you. thank you, truly!! 🫶
