Mer! Bel, NarWhamuu, Mer! Tippy, and Van-eel-a, all have bioluminescent markings/tattoos! Our tattoos are basically like the merfolk equivalent of a cutie mark... in a way!

Mer! Bel's thing is a diamond because he's elegant, beautiful, loves jewelry, and he has a knack for finding interesting objects!

NarWhamuu's thing is swirls because he's an ocean wind-mage fish and he can either help sailors find their way back to land with a gentle ocean breeze, or if they're disrespectful to the sea, he could call upon nature and create a huge monsoon!

Mer! Tippy and Van-eel-a's things are hearts because they are two halves of the same coin! They are filled with neverending love and a strong drive to protect their loved ones with their ice (Tippy) and electric (Vans) powers!
