Bella turned off the TV and mused for a moment on what she’d heard - the rumors that had been swirling lately about attacks were worrying her. She had this nagging feeling that things were only going to get worse if she didn’t do something about it. Droids, robots, AI, whatever it was that was causing this - it had to be dealt with one way or another. Still, there was too much she didn’t know for her to try and tackle this by herself, so she went to look for the person she knew the best in the Heroes Union. She made her way over to the trainees’ dorm, not sure if she was there but figured it was a good first place to look. “Hey, Thana? How do you feel about doing some field work investigating with me?” she asked as she walked inside.

Carter was starting to remember why he hated parties. They were crowded, loud, and he tended not to know anyone. He knew his sister at least, and Dove and Jax were in here somewhere, socializing with people they knew better. But he was stuck hanging out against a wall, sipping on something Thana mixed him. He wanted to text her he was leaving when someone came up to him. “Do you happen to know where the exit is?” He asked with a mix of jest and seriousness in his tone.

“I feel that I could not live my life without my powers, they make my little day chores so much easier” Fawna mused as she looked over the busy city below. “They make up so much of who I am and I am thankful that I was landed with them, where I know so many of my colleagues are not. You must remember they are part of your spark” The red head sighed contently “Can I help? I’m due on patrol in the next hour.”

“WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!” Liberty barked as she walked into the party, the music seeming to cut and people widening their eyes at the realization of just who was back.

Broadcasting: BREAKING NEWS! At 5:37am the bodies of four people have been discovered hung up outside of the City Hall. It is unclear just what has happened, but officials have stated that this was a planned attack. Each person has been cleanly executed and the ID’s of the people have been confirmed. The victims are ASTRA GLAMORGAN, known as the HERO, IRONGAZE; the known criminal SANTIAGO SANCHEZ known as the VILLAIN, EL MATADOR. SHANE ANDERS reported to have been the VIGILANTE, SOULCAST. The last victim is confusing officials, their name is FIONA APPLEBY, who worked as a CIVILIAN post office clerk-reports are unclear as to why she was killed and it is being looked into. The only information on the murderers is that they left each corpse with a cat mask on their faces and a sign hung around their neck that simply read ‘Powered Scum’. This has not yet been confirmed as a hate crime, but the police have ensured that they are doing their very best to get to the bottom of this case and they have leads that they can follow. Amelia couldn’t wipe the smirk from her face as people ran past her screaming, mission accomplished she thought as she moved away from the unconscious body of Fawna Livingston. Who would have thought the pair was an item twenty odd years ago. She pushed her way through the screaming crowd, strode towards the back entrance, not bothering to attempt the front door where everyone else seemed to be headed. She needed to be out in the dark or at the very least needed a dark room to recharge in. The bright lights of the room had been slowly draining her all night and the sudden burst of energy needed to spear tackle Fawna to the ground had depleted her energy greatly. Amelia sighed in relief as she found a small room, the lights were off and it was almost completely dark. It clearly wasn’t being used, the furniture covered in white sheets, so Amelia used that to her advantage. 

Amelia quickly recharged before striding back out towards the back entrance. A dark room was only good enough to sustain her for a short time, she needed to be outside in the dark. Amelia stopped in her tracks as someone approached her.

“Take it you are a little mad?” She questioned with a smirk.

Jupiter scanned the area, attempting to see if anyone was hurt or not. She ripped off her mask, showing she was in fact a hero and making her way into the chaos. She was confused, but tried to calm herself down so she could at least come to her senses. She escorted a few people to the exit before she made her way up to one of the guests left behind. "Are you okay?" She spoke softly to the masked attendee.

“Come on, Princess. We need to get the Hell out of here!” Renee almost barked at Lennox over the chaos, holding out her hand for her, snapping her fingers at her for her to take it “Come on, we haven’t got all day, fuck knows what is going to happen in here...”
