That day seemed to have come so fast for everyone involved. Liberty found herself walking slowly through the crowd to designated meeting point, her gaze refusing to fall upon villains who goaded her as well as Heroes who stood staring in horror, some mouthing words and pleas. The blonde set her eyes straight ahead to the two villain leaders who waited for her. Silverbeam stepped forward wearing her best pantsuit, the silver strip painted across her face perfect. She was looking her best for the event. “American Liberty, come to die...I could have made money on this, we weren’t sure you’d show..” the blonde laughed, Liberty hissed lowly at the woman in front of her “No deal, you know what I want...” The blonde warned, this making Silverbeam nod “Your little rat is free and safe, why not ask the stoner person in your earpiece to confirm that?” she wondered, gesturing to the hero’s ear, Liberty only ground her teeth when Lennox in her ear did confirm it. Liberty turned her head slightly, her deep blue eyes searching the small crowd that was gathered as she was pushed down to her knees by Silverbeam.
Sweat had began to form on the blondes forehead when she didn’t see Angel, having done nothing but ask for her heroes to make sure that the girl was there. “Oh shit” she whispered to herself as she realized that death would actually be coming for her, this hadn’t been part of the plan, Adria had warned about needing an actual solid plan, so had Cameron, no wonder he hadn’t had any faith in the idea. “Death to the Heroes Union, this one is going to be the first of many!” Silverbeam yelled, talking over Allendra with the older woman wanting the spotlight so badly. She had wanted nothing more than for a hero to die at her hands and now it was her chance. “Come on Angel, come on...” Liberty began to whisper in sobs to herself, her eyes wide as she tried to will the situation to turn itself around. What had she been thinking?
Angel stood with the heroes, the little blonde a mess after seeing Elora and being an emotional sponge like her mother she hated the feeling of everyone around her, the worry on the faces of the heroes she loved, the hatred and wicked smirks of the villains that lurked beside their leaders to watch the death of a public figure, it was all becoming too much and something deep inside the blonde began to panic. The young hero quickly turned to leave until someone grabbed her arm, her eyes coming to Thana “Wha-” she went to ask until she was distracted by some Civilians booing at the villains, her eyes wide when she saw Sublime pushing a civilian to the floor to shut them up. Angel swallowed thickly and nodded, hugging herself tightly, her eyes squeezing shut as she tried to remember just what her mother had told her when she was only three. Liberty by now was beginning to panic, her breathing picking up and her body beginning to shake, her eyes searched her friends and colleagues, her eyes locking with Cordelia, almost begging if she could help her, giving her a look that things had gone too far and she wanted out, her gaze moved from the woman to see Felicia taking Signe’s hand in an act of comfort and solidarity, she even saw Eliza zip over and take Signe’s other hand, the little blonde bouncing on the spot with nerves as she fought every urge to just run at LIberty and get her out of the way. But she had no idea whether that would harm Eve, it was all so up in the air and it made her very much whine like a dog almost, her gaze looking around as she caught a glimpse of Firebrand who too seemed to be captivated with what was happening. It seemed everyone had turned out.
“Enough of all of this, I’m tired of waiting for drama...Let’s just end the bitch and do everyone a fucking favor already” Silverbeam scoffed as she began to power up her arm with a strength that could shatter, putting all her focus into energy she’d absorbed and that she could control. A pin drop could be heard in the almost courtyard of people, some watching in disbelief, some in horror, some couldn’t watch....Where as others licked their lips with intrigue and excitement. It was all too much and causing a swirl of emotions in the space that just as Silverbeam raised her arm to smash it down onto Liberty’s head..A scream rang out. This making everyone pause and look up, Liberty almost like a meerkat with a hopeful expression.
“LEAVE. HER. ALOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEE!” The loud yell rang out and sliced through the silence like a knife, this being then followed by Angel jumping up and smashing down hard into the Earth with a blast of purple light and purple wings made of light bursting from her back to give her the strength and speed to do so. Her shout of rage seemed to go on for a long time that it almost echoed, carrying with the ripple of energy that shot out like a small atom bomb. Chaos immediately reigned as the huge shock-wave was sent out with the impact to the Earth, this blasting everyone and everything within a huge radius. Heroes, villains, civilians, vigilantes were all thrown back like ragdolls in the incredible display of force and raw power. Something that had not been witnessed in the city since Lucky Day and the move that she had called ‘Eclipse’ but even that had not been as impressive. Everything seemed to almost slow as the ground cracked wildly and a dangerous ripple ran up the glass of the surrounding towers and shattered them all, glass raining down in a cloud of shards, like a rain of nightmares. Buildings creaked and foundations cracked around them, rubble and dust beginning to cascade around the space. The sound was so deafening and yet it all through Angel wondered if her screams of rage could be heard over the devastation. Once her shockwave had died Angel dropped down, looking at her shaking hands, before she then gave a gasp of disbelief, only then smiling wide. She had powers afterall!
That was until she noticed a building just in front of her that had began to crumble and fall down.....Fast.
I wouldn’t stay still if I were you.
