“Hm...

Right now, Lee would be meditating on the hill. I think Goomy went to help Kay in the garden...

...by keeping Ben busy so he doesn’t gobble up anything that hasn’t been harvested yet. Yeah. Munchlax roll like that sometimes.”

Ben seemed to be living his best life as he chowed down on a sandwich that DJ had made for him before going on his little meditation-hike. He enjoyed chewing on those peanut butter sandwiches that he made in quite a peculiar way. Peanut butter with...butter? It sounded insane, but tasted WONDERFUL as he took another bite of the sandwich...

The Mage sat next to the window, watching outside as Goomy hopped around in the rain. Her smile brought one to his own face as she loved the rain.

Ben was sitting with him, not wanting to get his fur and any particular food hidden underneath wet.

Lee was inside as well, though he was keeping watch over a kettle of water on the stove.

Kay was outside with Goomy, keeping close watch over her from underneath the awning of the deck while continued to hop around joyfully...

After a short while, Ben stirred, waking up and hopping off the sofa for a moment to reach into his fur to pull out a small cracker, munching on it for a few moments...

The Mage chuckled as Goomy looked over the side of the pier into the water. He was sitting on the deck with the others, watching as they hung out around the deck and the pier attached to it.

Ben was in a deck chair next to him while Lee sat at the very end of the pier, looking out at the waters of the bay and the ocean beyond it. Kay was standing close to where Goomy was, just in case she were to fall into the water...

A New View on the Holiday

The Mage sits there, looking out the window. A chill has come in the air, though with it does not come any snow. The island’s climate, especially at the coast, doesn’t allow for such wintery extravagance, but the occasional chill is always welcomed.

There’s a nudge at his side, causing him to look down to see Goomy there looking up at him. He can’t help but smile at the sight of her and pats his lap, the little thing accepting the invitation and hopping up onto him before looking out the window to see why he seemed to intent on looking outside.

As she does this, he looks around, finding his other companions doing various things around the house:

Ben is staring at the oven, watching the chocolate chip cookies he had decided to bake do just that. 

Lee and Kay were working together to put away a few things that DJ himself had overlooked, which was appreciated by the Mage. He always inwardly kicked himself whenever he would find a measuring cup or some other cooking tool sitting on the counter by itself next to the sink.

He took a deep breath and sighed, looking out the window once again. Sure, it was that time of the year elsewhere and it always made him think about his family, the one he had before the Ordeal happened. It was enough to make him rather sad...

But then he would think about this new family that had some into his life just a short month ago, and it would bring a smile to his face. He wasn’t lonely anymore, especially during those particular times...

3...2...1...BEEEEEP-BEEEEEP-BEEEEEP! 

The sound of the oven’s cook timer went off as it shut itself off, sending Ben into a tizzy as he began to hop around in front of the oven, trying to get DJ’s attention. The Mage picked up Goomy, placing her on top of his shoulder as he made his way to the kitchen, retrieving a large, thick, oven mitt and putting it on.

Lee and Kay had arrived to that side of the kitchen as well after the commotion Ben made once the oven had went off. Of course, this would also be a teaching lesson, DJ thought, as he opened the oven. “Don’t touch yet, ok? It’s still very, VERY hot.” He reached in with his mitt hand, pulling out one of the metal trays and placing it on one of the small towels he set when putting the cookies in to bake. He did this one more time, retrieving a second tray and placing it on the other towel.

Before Ben could investigate to see if there were any more hidden in the oven, DJ quickly closed the oven door and put the oven mitt away. “Now leave them for a while to cool, ok?” He gave Ben a look at the Munchlax gave a huff. “Patience is a virtue, and I have a lot of it.” The Mage tapped his brow with his index finger twice before doing the same to Ben, causing him to look up at DJ. He smiled at the Munchlax, who then smiled back at him.

“Come on, you should take a look outside. The sun should have set by now, which means...” As if on cue, Goomy let out a cry of excitement and nearly fell off DJ’s shoulder. He quickly made sure she didn’t fall, even though Kay was quickly to his side to make sure she did not fall far. He made his way to one of the larger windows in the living room, pulling up a few chairs that the others sat in to have a look outside.

Stargazing had become a bit of a bonding moment that they all shared every once in a while, taking note of how the stars moved in the night sky from day to day and from season to season. DJ pulled a chair up for himself, sitting down and glancing out the window...

“...Merry Christmas.”

There was a mass covered by a bright red cloak on the clifftop. Indeed, it was the Mage there with his pokemon companions curled and cuddled up with him, all sound asleep in a cuddle pile of sorts...
