It had been a pretty cloudy day, with the clouds themselves becoming darker as the day went on. Sure enough, it had begun to rain in the early afternoon, though it wasn’t anywhere near severe. In fact, it made for quite the peaceful ambiance around the cove.
Inside a certain house in the center of the cove, several sets of eyes looked out the window, watching the rain fall and seeing how it splashed not only on the ground, but also on the surface of the water itself. Ben and Goomy seemed to be the most entranced by nature’s display while Kay and Lee stood behind them, their height making it easy for them to observe the calming sights and sounds as well. The only one that was missing was...
“...Hrrmph...”
Lee stood in front of the Mage's bedroom, looking at the door as if he could possibly see through it. The human had closed himself up inside after returning home the day before carrying a small red box. His Aura was in turmoil for those moments before he disappeared into his room. Since then, nothing...
The Lucario sighed after a few more moments passed, turning around and crossing his arms over his chest. What to do...?
“Hm...
Right now, Lee would be meditating on the hill. I think Goomy went to help Kay in the garden...
...by keeping Ben busy so he doesn’t gobble up anything that hasn’t been harvested yet. Yeah. Munchlax roll like that sometimes.”

Keeping Things Warm
“...nnndah!”
Doing squats was one thing, but doing them with a tree trunk on your shoulders was another. Then again, what else was he supposed to do to improve his physical condition? At least he wasn’t alone in the matter. Lee was standing a short distance to his side, doing the same with a smaller piece of lumber that the Mage had cut from the tree he felled.
Firewood was in high demand this time of year, so he’d do his part both for his home and for those in Sicarius, but before handing it over he was going to make sure to make the best of things. After a couple more reps, he let out a loud grunt of effort before hurling the tree trunk off his shoulders and onto the ground in front of him. The Lucario followed suit a moment later. DJ looked down, breathing heavily for a few moments.
For a second, he thought he could see steam rising from his skin in the winter air...
“All yours, Kay.” In a matter of moments, the Gallade had begun to cut up the large hunks of wood. The Mage walked over to where he had left his sword, the black blade devoid of markings. He surely wasn’t going to use the Timeripper for such a chore when the original darksteel was as sharp as ever. DJ easily took the blade in his hand, picking it up and grasping it with both hands before turning and swinging the blade through the tree it had been leaning against.
“Timber!” The tree fell, crashing to the ground a short distance away from the first. Once the lumber had settled, he walked over, cutting the trunk in half widthwise with another stroke of his blade, then repeating it to one of the resulting halves. “Alright. One more set, Lee!”
He placed the sword up against another nearby tree that still stood, turning to see that the Lucario had already started to pick up his piece of wood: one of the quarters he had made just now. A chuckle came from him as he went to grab his, the untouched half, lifting it up before giving it a press to raise it over his head. He then leaned his head forward, letting the wood down to settle on his shoulders.
“Ready?” DJ took his stance as Lee answered. “Ok! One-and-two-and-three-and-four!”
He began another set of the exercises with Lee, hoping to keep to some sort of rhythm. How else was a god supposed to keep up with a multiverse that he barely even scratched?
“...nnndah!”
DJ sat at the top of the hill, once again settled in the spot where he found it best to meditate. Lee was sitting next to him. Both had their eyes closed as they were doing just that. A soft breeze ruffled DJ’s cloak and blew through Lee’s fur, bringing with it a slight chill to the air...
DJ could be seen sitting at the pier’s edge, looking out at the water as stars twinkled in the night sky. The serene sound of the waves lapping up on the shore was the only thing that could be heard as he kept silent...
Creaking of the boards of the pier betrayed the approach of the blue and black furred companion of his. The Lucario made his way over to where he was sitting, soon taking the spot next to the Mage.
“...Mm? Ah, it’s you, Lee...” DJ smiled at the pokemon, who smiled and nodded at him. A moment later they both started looking back out across the water and up at the night sky...
