Today for #fashionfriday we present to you our longtime friend and ally, Ser HoTac, a Lord of @house.morningwood and fashion model for the #tacticalbuyersclub. http://bit.ly/TacticalBuyersClub Lord Ser @hotactactical is the hero of the Zhōngguó Middle Kingdom, the most storied of warriors in Siam and Annam, and a learned traveler who has visited the farthest reaches of the Nanyang. He is favored by the Rajah of Butan, Beloved of the Rattanakosin Empress, considered to be a virtual demi-god in Koryŏ, and an ardent anti-communist. Truly he is worthy to wear the #HouseMorningwood sigil. Actually, we're pretty sure that's not HoTac, but we DO know he'd rock an outfit like that. Maybe we'll do a post like this again when we're sure. Henry Cejudo Announces Retirement after TKO vs. Dominick Cruz Match
Clearly, Henry Cejudo, a two-weight UFC champion and an ex-Olympic gold medalist wrestler, is out on top. For the first time on Saturday night, Henry Cejudo (16-2) defended his 135-pound title as he finished Dominick Cruz (22-3) at 4 minutes, 58 seconds of the second round at UFC 249 at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. The 33-year-old shocked the world of mixed martial arts moments later when he announced he has no intention of fighting again. Henry Cejudo said, "I'm happy with my career, I've done enough in the sport. I want to walk away and enjoy myself. I'm 33 years old. I have a girl now, watching me from back home. Since I was 11, I've sacrificed my life to get to where I was tonight. I'm retiring tonight. Uncle Dana , thank you. Everybody here, thank you so much."
White appeared later Saturday on Sports Center and said he was not shocked by Cejudo's announcement. He said, "It really didn't shock me, Henry Cejudo has been talking about retirement to us for months. I'm of the belief that if you're talking about retirement in the fight business, you should probably retire." Before entering the cage Cejudo called himself the greatest all-time combat-sports athlete. His only two MMA defeats came to Demetrious Johnson, UFC's longest-running flyweight champion, and Joseph Benavidez. Two years after the first encounter Cejudo avenged his defeat to Johnson. If this happens to be the last appearance of Henry Cejudo, then it was an amazing one. Cruz, 35, had not fought for injury in 1,226 days but he was still generally regarded as the greatest bantamweight ever. Eric Albarracin, a long-time head coach of Cejudo, told ESPN that he believed that Cejudo was still "in his prime." "I only think he's getting better. It's a somber moment, when someone retires in his prime," Albarracin said. "I understand it, though. We've been on a hell of a run. I've been with him since 2004. He's gotten it done -- every goal we've ever set, he's accomplished. He's beaten every legend they set in front of him." Albarracin said "there was something a little bit off this week" with Cejudo. "I was trying to figure it out, but I couldn't put my finger on it," Albarracin said. "I was ready to have him call out Jose Aldo, Alex Volkanovski and Conor McGregor after this fight, and he told me no. I think if Dana White were to add another zero to his paycheck, he'd have a hard time not coming back, but maybe he just does want to move on." Cejudo appeared to echo Albarracin's point, saying at his postfight news conference, "I really do want to walk away, but money talks." The second-round result came after Cruz was injured badly with a right knee to the temple by Cejudo. Cejudo immediately pounced upon him, dropping a strong right hand and a succession of unanswered left hands before the bout was halted by referee Keith Peterson. It is Cruz's first loss in 15 years of professional career. "I'm ruthless," Cejudo said. "I may be cringey, corny -- but boy, can I fight.” Cruz was quick to protest the stoppage, as it seemed when the referee stepped in he was trying to work his way to his feet. However, he was clearly badly hurt and his back was to Cejudo, as he was using the cage to help him regain his balance. Afterwards, Cruz mentioned that he asked Peterson to give him leeway in case that happened. Cruz said, "I'm not happy with the stoppage, obviously, I specifically asked the ref to let me go until I was out. If I stayed on the floor, fine. But I was working my way up. "Hat's off to Henry. I shouldn't have gotten caught by that knee, which is what put me in that position. But I was standing up." Until the stoppage, it was a competitive battle, although Cejudo seemed to get the upper hand. He effectively targeted Cruz's legs with kicks, and landed the two's harder shots. Only seconds before the finish, the two heads collided, resulting in a hairline cut similar to Cejudo's. But he was obviously not affected by the accident, as he landed the knee quickly after restart. ESPN entering this weekend ranked Cejudo the world's No. 3 pound-for-pound boxer. Guess who's back, back again Andy’s back, tell a friend Guess who's back, guess who's back? Well I stayed an extra night so I could take the stress test and 24 hours later I got the test done but knew as much as the day before and wasn’t free to go. Had to unleash the Weasel to cut through the BS and finally got home. The #lasix made me drop 21 pounds of water weight and I am back to normal. I will be a good boy and take the suggested meds but in the end the issue was what I thought. After decades of training and then a month of inaction and my body dropped the ball aka held on to every drop of water. This caused the breathing issues and now I can resume my usual activities. Haven’t slept much over the past week and my first hospital visit was overwhelming. As anyone who has crewed me knows,I am not good at letting people help me. Hence I solo most of my races. Then my four decades long passion for endurance science gets in the way of interacting with doctors. I get along great with the nurses and they listen etc but all the doctors want you to do is #bendtheknee They profile the @&$? out of me and don’t bother to read my carefully prepared charts by the nurses or even talk to me before making their diagnosis. I stuck to my guns and made it work but I shouldn’t have to. I will be exploring this topic and more on @andynoiseexperiencepodcast So I got home and the Weasel, Milo and I went for an evening stroll which was almost the fastest pace I have gone since the @johnsburgers_3019fst grease fall 7 weeks ago. Thank you all for your kind words and I can’t wait to see you all in the future! (at Bakersfield, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_gg0jVnJ2g/?igshid=fdjrbsl8h1ux
