মথংগী লম্বী দা লৈবা দুকান অমাদগী নহাক না লৈ ফঙগনি (mathanggī lambī da leibā dukān amādagī nahāk nā lei phanggani) - You can get fresh flowers from the shop in the next lane.

P.S. seriously, this app is teaching me how to ask for seasonal fruits but I still don't know how to reply to a how are you. 💀

Bengali word of the day: ‌‌জন্য (jonno/jon-no)

English: for, because of, due to

Etymology: from Sanskrit root जन् , meaning 'to create' or to' be born'.

Phrase/Sentence:

এটা আমি আমার বন্ধুর জন্য নিয়ে যাচ্ছি।

eṭā āmi āmār bondhur jon'no niye zhācchi.

(e-Ta aa-mi aa-maar bon-dhur jon-no ni-e jaach-chhi)

Translation: I'm taking this for my friend.

Breaking the sentence:

এটা = this

আমি = I

আমার = my

বন্ধুর = friend

জন্য = for

নিয়ে যাচ্ছি = am taking

Bangla numerals:

১ - এক (æk) one

২ - দুই (dui) two

৩ - তিন (tin) three

৪ - চার (cār) four

৫ - পাঁচ (pām̐c) five

৬ - ছয় (chôy) six

৭ - সাথ (sāth) seven

The Assamese Alphabet/অসমীয়া বৰ্ণমালা

The Assamese alphabet or Assamese script, is a writing system of the Assamese language. This script was also used in Assam and nearby regions for Sanskrit as well as other languages such as Bodo (now Devanagari), Khasi (now Roman), Mising (now Roman), Jaintia (now Roman) etc. It evolved from Kamarupi script.

The present standard is identical to the Bengali alphabet except for two letters, ৰ (ro) and ৱ (vo); and the letter ক্ষ (khya) has evolved into an individual consonant by itself with its own phonetic quality whereas in the Bengali alphabet it is a conjugate of two letters.
