Approximation

Well said by any middle school teacher " Approximate till 3 decimal places". Are You joking never approximate should be what is to be taught always or better right almost and hen write the number. never teach children to approximate is same as writng the number. 

Its a blunder almost all middle school teacher makes though it is very basic. They feel something else when they say this but when the child listen to it , he/she takes it simply.  This should not be the case ever. Take an example:
