#I want John Carroll Lynch to crush my head like a watermelon
I just now realized that Benjamin limping while posing as Mr. Jingles was probably a result of his childhood injury that was sustained from his mother stabbing him and the fact that they didn't keep that detail in once the time skip occurs may be a symbolic implication of no longer being weighed down by his traumatic past...you guys mind if I cry for a second?
Brooke & Benjamin parallels
There's no way to tell what exactly it means for Brooke in the future episodes, but their stories have too many clear parallels for it to be a coincidence.
Both of them were initially innocent, gentle souls that were forced to kill due to the circumstances they'd found themselves in (Brooke killed Montana in self-defense, Benji had to kill during war).
Both were in the wrong place at the wrong time - at Camp Redwood during one of Margaret's massacres. Both were framed by her for multiple murders they didn't commit, both had no chance against her in court.
Both imprisoned for those crimes and at one point, freed by Donna Chambers. Benji, so she could study a serial killer in the wild. Brooke, so she could make things right (or so she says; I'm not saying Brooke is a perfect example of someone with a potential of becoming a serial killer and she wants to watch it develop but this is exactly what I'm saying).
Both forced into darkness they weren't born with only after people BELIEVED they were dark all along. Benji started killing others despite never doing that outside of war. Brooke chopped off the hiker's thumbs and left him tied up (maybe cutting thumbs off will become her serial killer signature - just like ears were for Mr Jingles). Not to mention she still intends to kill Margaret for what she's done to her.
Both were sought after by Richard and offered a deal with Satan. Benji accepted, Brooke, so far, has not.
Both have a tortured soul that wants them dead waiting for them at Camp Redwood (Benji - his mother, Brooke - Montana).
Will Brooke eventually accept Richard's deal and join him? Will it end with her dying at Camp Redwood just like Benji did? Will she become a thumb-stealing serial killer? Will her story end completely differently from Benji's? It's ahs after all, anything could happen. But the parallels are interesting nonetheless.
Credit for noticing how similar their stories are goes to my dear @robichaux-ahs.
I think it says a lot about Bobby and Sam as people that even though Benji and Montana were kind of second best/last in their mother's eyes(based off of the expression on Montana's face when Benji told his story), they still adored their brothers.
