Benji the Hunted (1987)

My rating: 4/10

That overly sombre news segment at the beginning is pretty great and I had high hopes for the rest of the movie, but unfortunately it really doesn't maintain that energy - it quickly turns into Animals Looking: The Movie, especially since, presumably for safety reasons, the animals don't actually interact very much.

BENJI Portrayed by Higgins, born December 12, 1957 _ A mix of Miniature Poodle, Cocker Spaniel, and Schnauzer, Higgins was one of the best-known dog actors of the 1960s and 1970s--due to his broad range of emotions through his facial expressions. His career started as an uncredited dog from Petticoat Junction, from 1964 to 1970. Sitcom appearances on Green Acres and The Beverly Hillbillies. Later to be remembered as the original Benji (1974), before his daughter Benjean reprised the role.
