My Benlor Headcannons. Based off of the Royal SBG AU by @astro-can, because... I feel like it I guess? (feel free to have me take these down if they don't align with your perspective on the AU<3)

Ben draws Taylor a lot when they interact and Taylor *treasures* the pictures. I think that since Taylor is a commoner and never really had access to super well done decor (oil paintings, professional sketches, etc.), she treasures these pictures.

Since gardening is one of Ben's confirmed hobbies, I think that the flowers Taylor keeps in her hair are gifts from Ben. A silent admiration present. A silent oath.

I think that Ben, due to his lack of speech, probably silently brings books on better topics for Taylor and Tyler. Example, higher education and more knowledge tailored to their trade. He never flaunts access to a better education as the Duke's son and Prince's cousin. He just shares what he can.

Now for Taylor? She feels so bad at times that she can't afford the gifts, so how does she try and compensate? By talking. A lot of talking. about what her and Tyler do, while she works, while they go on walks, literal just so much talking- Because he listens and he's completely whipped by her smile and voice.

Taylor likely doesn't know of the backlash (I can imagine) Ben's received from his parents regarding who he's fallen for. I entirely believe he intends to keep it that way until future notice. Obviously Taylor is aware of the backlash she's received (from Tyler especially), about not falling in love with the Duke's son, but her excuse is probably "Ty, I'm just a girl with dreams,"

Now, we all know Taylor is crazy strong and can pick up Aiden. Probably Ben too. We aren't substituting that in the AU I feel like, so yes, Taylor will pick up Ben for the heck of it. She enjoys know she has the faintest hint of control in such a bland world for her.

Ben has definitely snuck her and Tyler into a ball as his personal guests or just had Aiden pull strings.

Aiden is #1 wingman frfr.

Favorite sbg ship and why the dynamic is so important (I’m doing a poll)

okay Aidlyn hand down probably because it was the first ship spotted but it's like the percabeth of sbg so it's hard not to like. As for their dynamic, it's a classic leader-who-holds-the-burden-of-everyone×person-who-just-wants-to-take-care-of-them, but it's something I will never get bored of. Like yeah Ashlyn feels like she has to hold up everyone and herself, to point where she doesn't even care about her own well being anymore, and Aiden has been shunted out and underestimated by a lot of people so to have someone that looks at him as apart of the team means a lot to to him. He knows what it feels like to act like you're not cracking apart, so he's there for her whenever she needs it even if she might not realize it yet.

But I also like Benlor mostly because it's cute. It's like the Frazel of sbg.

Ben knocked on Taylor’s door, waiting for a response. He and the girl had planned on hanging out at her house since Tyler would be over at Aiden’s. He heard a floomf before hearing her walk over to the door, her bracelets clacking together. “Hihihihijihihiii,” she greeted, dragging him over to the living room. “So, what do you want to do? I have some board games. Wait- would Disney be triggering for you?” gotta doublecheck everytime.

He just nodded silently in response, not bothering to use text-to-speech for something this simple. “‘Kay. That won’t work, then. Uhhmmm, want to switch clothes?” she was just grasping for anything to do at that point. Besides, her and Tyler do it all the time—especially when they were younger—why would it be weird with her boyfriend? Didn’t girlfriends usually steal their boyfriend’s clothes? How was them swapping clothes any different than that?

He gave her a thumbs up. She grabbed his wrist and dragged him to her wrist, rambling about whatever came to mind. When they got to her room, she went for her closet, rummaging through her draws. Ben gave her a confused look. “What are you doing?” his text-to-speech asked; he had managed to get it to be Teto when he had first started using it, it made it more enjoyable for him.

She waved her hand at him. “You’ll see.” He just tilted his head in response. What? Eventually, after a couple minutes of her rummaging, she pulled out something that he couldn’t exactly see. “Found it!” she yelled, unfolding it.

He looked at it for a second, and then, with a dawning realization, he realized that it was a fucking rocket suit. “I was thinking you could wear this since you always wear the same thing!” she explained, throwing it at him.

Can I wear something under it, at least? he signed, staring at her expectantly.

“Right! Forgot about that, sorry.” She threw a shirt and shorts at him. Eh, it was better than nothing.

Taylor was waiting outside the bathroom for him. He opened a crack in the door, throwing her his clothes. She caught them. And so she waited, waited for him to come out so she could change into his clothes. When he came out, she burst out laughing.

He was now, officially, a fucking rocket. She fistbumped him while heading towards the bathroom. When she was in the bathroom, she changed into his clothes. She shivered at the texture. God, why was it so itchy? How did he tolerate it everyday?

When she walked out, he was on the couch. “Want to watch Gravity Falls?” He nodded. “‘Kay. I’ll get it set up, then.” She went to turn on the TV.

The end, because I don’t know how to continue this and it feels like there’s nothing else to write.
