This Island design is based on classic destination postcards and placemats highlighting the various “attractions” a state has to offer. Growing up in south Florida, I referred to them as tourist traps. They are usually off the beaten path, but travelers seek them out in hopes of gleaming a sense of authenticity from a bygone era — always leaving with a nagging sense that they’ve been duped.
