Ben says it so genuinely, it's a simple line, that's it. Those are so honestly simple pure words, and Darius was so messed up inside that hearing that must have been so absurd, but comfortable at the same time. Absurd bc it's too simple so it can't reach the complexity of Darius' feelings, and comfortable bc that's exactly what he needed to hear and understand. Like a bittersweet hug in the form of words, if that even makes sense to someone.
