In a way, this concert looks ahead to a new era. One year before Kirill Petrenko takes up his post as the Berliner Philharmoniker’s new chief conductor, he conducts the opening concert of the 2018/2019 season. At the same time, he presents his interpretation of core works of the Philharmoniker’s repertoire: Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony and Richard Strauss’ tone poems Don Juan and Tod und Verklärung .
kflaslfsdlflefealke I’m screaming because the Berlin Philharmonic just made their lovely Digital Concert Hall free to the public and ohhh my goodd
I listened to their performance of Richard Strauss’ Don Juan and I am truly a changed musician. It was so emotionally felt, so powerful, so full of colour, and it told a heart-wrenching story
Reading the programme notes for this tone poem by the Chicago Symphony really made this experience so poignant
absolutely stunning eeeek
