Chub Character actors from the 1950s. Bern Hoffman. Bern Hoffman did few movies that he was credited in. The first 3 photos are from his first film, Nocturne (1946), a film noir, where he played the heavy. He played a wrestler, uncredited in The Naked City (1948). He sang the opening number in Om The Town (1949) and still received no credit. In 1956 he had a small uncredited role in Somebody Up There Likes Me. Also in 1956 he played Earthquake McGoon Lil Abner on Broadway. In 1959 he reprised the role in the film version. He mostly paid the bills playing roles in television programs like M Squad.

Mostly in the 60′s he got television jobs where he could, appearing on Wagon Train 5 times as different characters.He also appearred in The Lucy Show, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir and had a recurring role in Bonanza as the bartender (usually named Sam). In the 70s, he did get an uncredited role in Soylent Green in 1973.
