Orcaspots was the eldest son of Plumstar, the wretched leader who declared war on DriftClan after the leader before her finally made peace. Harestar, who was a fairly new leader at that point, was raging mad. He sent battle patrols, too many for the MountainClan cats to keep up. It didn’t take long for Plumstar to lose all her lives in a battle. Leapfang became leader, and chose Dawndapple, a senior warrior, as their deputy. They’re still trying to make peace, though, still

Orcaspots grew up with Plumstar’s harsh way of parenting. His father was long dead, and his younger siblings, Littlepaw and Cinderpaw both died the last leafbare. After his mother was killed, Orcaspots felt lost and scared. He hated his mother, but she was all he had. What would he do now? It wasn’t until Berrysplash took an interest in him. Berrysplash lost both his parents in the battle, which they bonded over. They fell in love, and eventually, Orcaspots was pregnant with his kit.

Lightningkit was born in a cold leafbare, the only kit in the litter, and he grew big fast. He decided quickly that he wanted to be a medicine cat under Stormfleck and Creekfang. Stormfleck passed away not long after he was apprenticed. Orcaspots was very proud of his son. And he was happy with Berrysplash.

A few moons passed, and Orcaspots was named deputy. Dawndapple died of greencough, but their time as deputy wouldn’t be forgotten anytime soon. Orcaspots was trained well by Leapstar, and was ready to become leader after them. Berrysplash acted as if he was proud of his mate, but he started acting strange. Orcaspots became nervous. He didn’t want to act skeptical, though.

It wasn’t until he came across Berrysplash sneaking around camp with a mouse in his jaws. Orcaspots followed him, surprised when Berry didn’t head back to camp. Berrysplash met a rogue on the border, giving them the mouse. He was shocked. The orange cat, Sunflower, was one well known in DriftClan. They’d often come into camp to hunt with the Clan cats. Orcaspots confronted his mate. Berrysplash explained what happened: Sunflower and him had met a few moons before, and fell in love. Orcaspots looks at Sunflower, asking if they knew abut Berry’s relationship with Orca, and Sunflower said that they did, saying they thought Orca knew about them. Sunflower and Orcaspots turned on Berrysplash, and left him at the border, angrily going home. Sunflower didn’t come to camp anymore.

Lightningclouds, meanwhile, took Berrysplash’s side, saying that after Orcaspots became deputy, he never had time for either of them. His son stopped talking to him. Orcaspots tried to keep his strife off his mind, trying to stay focused on his duties as deputy. Still, he found himself cold now in his nest, without Berrysplash next to him. Loneliness gripped at him, but he couldn’t let it take over.
