Ymir Fun Page
(as always, spoilers, awkward writing, odd thought processing...I guess mild gore, too)
Well, I have begun to feel sorry for the one known as Ymir Fritz or Ymir the Founder. I have mentioned this elsewhere, but their story has been told by propagandists, liars, manipulators, people who don't have their heads on straight or those looking for someone to blame. We must not assume everything people are saying about them or imagining about them is real in regards to the story. Unfortunately, poor Ymir, for whatever reason can't even speak up for their own self.
Okay, they are not a god or a devil, but what do they really want?
Sure, their slave dress makes it seem like they're ready for work, but their shadow shorts seem to hint they would really like to kick back, relax, maybe have a little fun.
What or who are they really looking for?
Well maybe someone there will speak up for Ymir.

Also, oftentimes in this story some of the dialogue can take on added meaning as we understand more.
Anyway from chapter 139, "…the one who let him go and led her that way was…"
I wasn't sure enough about the accuracy of the translation, one version switched "led her" to "made her", more a tonal shift, but some translations were too different.]
Anyway, before we get back to what Ymir might want, here's a quick look at the lovely children attributed to them:
(I was going to try and do something similar to this but matching the daughters' hairstyles to their respective characters and maybe have it slightly less gory, but I didn't get around to it. Yeah Armin kind of looks like Kaya there, too, but I liked staying with the 104th. I'm not sure if they're actually petite and blonde, so probably should have tweaked that a little, also I wish I could have come up with a better dad joke.)
But getting back to Ymir and what they might have been looking for...
...a friend?
...a helper?
...or something else?
Fun facts about Bertmir, if you try to find them at a party (on the rare chance they can be convinced to go to one) they will usually be hanging out with any pets or browsing the books. They are also a talented artist, especially with sculpture, but due to their terrible self-esteem, sometimes they wind up stomping their creations thinking they aren't good enough. Sometimes they are hard to communicate with as if their mind is in a million places at once, but once engaged they actually are a friendly, very knowledgeable conversationalist. They are an extremely loyal and loving friend, they just have to be careful about maintaining their own identity. Bertmir really just needs love so they can be confident in their being and in their talents.
[Edit...(original note-I might have a couple minor additions for later, didn't quite get put together the way I had originally planned. Aw well.) Well, it's March 3, 2023 and finally got around to adding stuff I started from just before summer, there are also a few slight wording changes. As for Bertmir originally I had Bertholdt combined with manga Ymir, but the hair to head ration was a little off, plus my coloring wasn't very good. After I had started attempt two, I saw the anime special version of "The Rumbling" by SiM (https://youtu.be/DSMuhzSgOGE) and briefly thought about switching the Bertholdt image, but realized I'm not efficient enough for that...yet. Anyway, instead of moving forward, I'm moving backwards, ha ha.]
