FannibalFest2! Tour Post Part 1:)

Hey Fannibals. So I know I’ve been slow with this... I tried to post while I was at the Con but Tumblr is THE WORST so I basically just posted to twitter. If anyone wants, you can find me on there at @MyDesignHanibl.

Short story... @fannibalfest-toronto was INCREDIBLE! But so much happened I’m not sure how to go about recounting it all to you, but I wanted to post some stuff, because I know what it feels like to be stuck at home during a Con (ahem... RDC3) and be dying for info :P

I’m going to start with the first tour in this post! One of the most amazing things about FFT is that we’re able to visit some amazing shooting locations. As a Toronto based Fannibal, even I love these tours, because we get into places that I can’t even get into living right here!

Will’s Wolf Trap House:

The house turns out to be like, 5 mins from the house I grew up in! Super weird. It’s adorable and utterly perfect for Will! The owners are the sweetest people who really liked us and welcomed us. I don’t care that we got here last year too, I could go here every single day... every day forever!!

Such a highlight again :) So much fun to sacrifice myself as The Dragon for Hannibal and Will 😆( @apoptoses and @redfivewritingby ) Absolutely great house, and the owner told me that they were even thinking of turning it into an AirBnb type rental someday! Fannibal Retreat anyone???!!!

You hosted a panel!?! That's awesome, how was it?

I did, yes! I got super lucky, omg, so. I went to Boston Comic Con several years ago, with @lycanthropy101. We’re both big Torchwood fans, and the year we went was a great one for Torchwood, since John Barrowman, Eve Myles (omg, that woman is such a sweetheart, I can’t even tell you, I fell so much in love with her in like. The five minutes I got to meet her for getting a picture.), and James were all there. (James Marsters, who I originally know from Buffy, of course, but, still. Torchwood!) So, with me cosplaying Jack Harkness, her cosplaying Ianto Jones, we went to James’ panel. At the start of the panel, before he actually came in, a con worker came out and told us how they do panels; they actually choose an audience member to host the panel, by asking a question about the actor, and the first person who can answer correctly (after being picked to answer, of course XD) got to host the panels. AAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand… they asked about his character from Torchwood, and asked what he called Ianto.

So, of course, I think before the woman even really finished asking the question, I was out of my seat, on my feet, trying not to jump up and down as I threw my hand as high as it could go. She called on me, I all but cried out ‘EYECANDY,’ and she beckoned me down to get me ready to introduce James and host the panel.

Because comic con, and me dork, I introduced him in full Jack Harkness style, he came out, gave me this like. Giant hug, and it kind of went from there. I spent most of the time with the mike, runningbouncing (cause lbr, I was ecstatic and full of energy and literally bounding up the auditorium stairs several stairs at a time to get to people) around the audience picking people to ask questions and talk, and then afterwards, he was super sweet, told me that I’d done a fantastic job, remembered me later when I went for an autograph, and was just. Like I said, if I hadn’t been in love with the man for years already, I would’ve been then, haha.

It is a memory I will cherish for forever. That con was full of them, really. :3 Like I said, Eve Myles was also an absolute fucking doll, she snuck in a free extra autograph for me cause I had a phone cover that had her on it (Gwen, Jack, and Ianto), and was so chatty and fun and sweet. And the company I had for the con was wonderful as well. :3 <3 (Also, haha, marks the beginning of my addiction to Dunkin Donuts, because SOMEONE insisted we go before con every day, and omg, Dunks in Boston actual is amazing, omg.)

My group from AnimeFest. Literally the best con ever. Story about that bench we got a ton of pics on. Friday night we were exhausted after a YOI photoshoot, and just chillin for a bit. When suddenly I get the urge to look up and see a group of AnimeFest staff walking with a couple of people. I instantly realized it was no other than Kubo, Yamamoto, and Hiramatsu!! The creator, co-director, and character designer for Yuri on Ice. They walked by and Kubo said hi, Hiramatsu FAN BOYED OVER US! He was smiling big and waving like crazy, I didn't see Yamamoto unfortunately due to the staff being around them. It was a beautiful moment and we wanted to cry. AnimeFest was soo so amazing thank you to all the beautiful fans and friends we made!
