gonna say this now: actually yeah gihun's intentions to prevent thousands of deaths of future victims of the squid games do in fact give him a pass on every morally questionable decision he made, especially his decision to prioritize ending the games instead of risking his chance to do that by participating in the riot. seong gihun did nothing wrong, except the things he did because of bad writing (aka killing daeho but sparing the finalists. that's all hdh, and that was just stupid even if killing daeho was kinda hot)

and yeah inho's work to perpetuate that vile system does overrule any claim to victimhood he might have had. if he had chosen to lift one finger to help gihun stop the mass murder of the poor, maybe then i would have sympathy, but he didn't. he let them all die, not even stopping the games to spare gihun in the end. he had far more opportunity to end the games than gihun did, if he wanted to. He would be putting himself at risk, but Gihun obviously risked more. at best Inho is a coward acting in the interest of his own self preservation, at worst he genuinely believes the games are worth perpetuating to rid the world of those he deems to be trash.

I ship inhun because i can enjoy imagining scenarios where inho got out of the cuck chair and literally did ANYTHING AT ALL to change the outcome, but canonically he was restrained by hdh's writing to be irredeemable and worse, irrelevant to the plot of s3 in a lot of ways where it would have been logical for him to act.

You know Inho is panicking, already planning on going over there and saving his pookie but he checks out the cameras to see what is going on, expecting there to be a robber, an intruder, maybe like a pack of dogs that got in?

But no-Gihun is throwing boxes of cereals and cutlery at-is that? Yep. A spider. Gihun, the winner of the 2020 squid games, the man who is trying to bring down the worldwide organization that makes the Squid games possible...is freaking out over a spider.

So laughing, Inho gets into his limo and gets ready to go over to Gihun's place so he can play the role of the knight in shining armor.

Speaking of season one moments. We all agree In-ho sent Gi-hun flowers, right? We agree this was him:

Because at this point, Oh-il-nam is out of it. He’s barely lucid. In-ho is probably the one running surveillance on Gi-hun and snitching on him.

Naturally, Oh Il-nam would say, “I want to see Gi-hun before I pass.”

But this. In-ho where in the instructions did Il-nam tell you to send him flowers? You could have done the normal thing and left it at his door like last time. But check the difference.

Contestants get a soggy piece of paper wedged in their doorframe. Gi-hun gets a hand-delivered card with a pink-ribboned envelope and a bouquet.

Also the pink ribbon resembles the coffins but also the box In-ho kept the card in at his old apartment. So on one hand it’s traumatizing to Gi-hun but can also be seen as a romantic gesture. “We’re the same, you and I.”
