What is the worst thing TCW has done?

Welcome to my haters lair. Great question and there's a lot of material but my top contenders are

- zygerria arc

- mortis arc for how it characterized the force

- inhibitor chips

- the mandalorian cultural rewrite from hell

- portrayal of anakin and padme

which I guess could be condensed into one giant complaint:

Tcw did not sidestep or avoid conflict with existing star wars (per the standard for franchise media with a very different tone than other pieces of its ecosystem) and instead went out of its way to actively contradict most of existing star wars. In my opinion an accompanying kids cartoon should never recieve this level of veto power, especially when that cartoon is far from a quality product.

#it seems like common sense to me. you make a kids cartoon you tone things down for the kids. therefore you just step carefully around the #main story. not idk. stomp on it?#in the original pitch for tcw the main cast was not the main prequel cast. that was filoni's idea and glucas liked it at first #I think it wouldve been more successful coherency wise and in its place in the greater SW franchise if lucas had greenlighted that #but he mushed the prequel cast into it whether for money reasons or personal reasons and the whole thing went to shit #the scope of tcw was never nailed down. it's a pile of 837294758474 different concepts and angles that dont like eachother #like lucas was saying its gonna be the tone of live action and then he was saying it was gonna be like indiana jones #it was gonna explore the universe but also the prequel main characters have to be the main characters #but the point of the show wasnt their characterization. now imagine whole teams of people working on this tryna put it together #now imagine theyre trying to pitch toy sales. now imagine george is there with his unfinished manga manuscripts from the 50s being a creep.#you get the picture. a project that didnt go very far because everyone involved thought it was going 12 separate places #its just unfortunate that again. the literal rest of star wars Ever bore the casualty continuitywise #and no I dont think george lucas is faultless for this. being a very successful creative often results in putting stock in what is not your #best work #and so on #askbox
