The Windy City 

That I love so much.

With its different seasons 

That you can hear, see, smell, and touch. 

Diverse neighborhoods

separated by ethnicities and class.

I’m from the Southside,

Every other side is trash. 

Chi City, My City.

Man I love my city. 

Where basketball is gritty, 

Handles are smooth and shifty.

This is where I got the nickname Trixy.

Amazing food 

Consisting of deep dish pizza, hot dogs, and Fried Chicken. 

There’s nothing quite like it

Everything is good, there is no competition. 

We got downtown 

We got China Town.

We got hoods with gun sounds,

Everyone on the ground. 

Up north you got two sides

You got uptown and up north.

Then you got everything they gentrified,

Separating the rich and the poor. 

We got over east.

I don't even go there 

They crazy, they can't ever keep the peace.

So I try to stand clear. 

Then it’s out west.

They a different breed.

They dirty, and everything a mess.

I grew up out south

Where people think twice before opening they mouth. 

I live in the wild hunnids, in Roseland

Right on Normal, but it’s no fairyland.

Chi City My City

Man I love my city.

Where the niggas footwork

And the girls juke and twerk. 

Where “Goofy” is the upmost disrespect 

And every black male is a murder suspect. 

Where “Don’t step on my G-fazos”

Became an American phrase. 

Us females we’re a different breed,

When I say us I mean the black ones, let me proceed. 

Black women from Chicago;

We’re mean as hell, and we got an ego.

But we’re soft and gentle 

And got one hell of a mental. 

Chicago isn't all bad,

And its not just a noun or city.

Chicago is a whole ass entity.

Chi City, My City.
