Alpha Phi's Third Annual Thankful 5k in loving memory of Casey Schulman and Shelley Goldsmith is today. Proceeds will be donated to the Alpha Phi Foundation, a nonprofit organization in support of women’s heart health, the Casey Schulman Foundation, a scholarship fund for students in need, and the Shelley Goldsmith Memorial Scholarship.

In addition to the Paris terrorist attacks, Japan experienced a 7.0 Earthquake, along with Mexico, Baghdad and Beirut faced a funeral and suicide bombing. In total, 115,2000 heartbeats were lost.
To lighten the mood before we close, here are some little known facts about Friday the 13th.

Two great orgs, one day-- but at least they aren’t at the same time!
New Dominions, a co-ed a capella group that started in 1990, is preforming their fall concert tomorrow (11/7) at 8pm in McLeod, and of course, you should grab your ticket ($6 students, $7 others). Additionally, there’s a guest performance from the Virginia Gentlemen, so that’s cool.
Staying with the blue paint theme, University Dance Club has a FREE fall showcase at 1pm in Old Cabell. All donations benefit Project Inspire, and there will be guest performances from the Virginia Belles and The Weathermen.
Hope you get a chance to check out these awesome showcases! Your fellow Wahoos put a lot of work into these!

Congratulations to our Cavalier Marching Band! CMB, debuted in 2004, has risen in prestige (no surprise) and this year is to be one of only ten marching bands to play in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Under the direction of Dr. William E. Pease, the CMB has over 330 students from over 80 majors. Try not to snooze off this Thanksgiving from food-coma -- support your Cavalier Marching Band and watch them in action. Also, if you really want to know, the red says: Matt + Sam vs. JD +Gunnar vs The World. Perhaps a play on the film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World?
