Every moment of that episode was a tribute to all the secondary characters in the Owl House. Every person in Hexside had a epic moment (except professor Homunculus oddly enough) and I am living for it. 

I have always loved secondary characters more than the main characters in shows and the Owl House came closest to me breaking that streak. But this episode blew me out of the water.

Dana loves these characters, from Luz and Eda to Bump and Gus. Gus might have been only added on since he doesnt show up in the Beta designs (only Luz, Amity and Willow show up) but I believe Dana cares as much for Gus as the others. 

(Though he might not have the time or charater development. Honestly, I feel Dana and the other Owl House creators don’t have the timeline they want to accurately tell this story. Season 3, right now, is 3 hour long episodes. the last 3 episodes to show have traumatized three or four of the main characters and I honestly believe if season three was longer they would space all the lore out more.)

Beta AU. During one of Luz's fights with Boscha, Boscha ends up slamming the side Luz's head into a brick wall & it causes minor damage to her ear. This results in Luz having slightly shitty hearing in that ear, Amity & Willow had to be stopped from committing a homicide. Luz doesn't really mind cause now when people yell at her for not listening she can just retort with "I am technically deaf, so fuck you." It is more mildly inconvenient than actually bad. Boscha got suspended for that one. -PA

Unfortunately for Boscha, Luz has the "haha I'm the only human transfer student with good grades I have immunity >:3" but it only works on very certain severe situations. Boscha minorly inconveniencing Luz by messing up her ear was one of them bc she legitimately could've made Luz deaf in that ear. They of course didn't know what the damage was at the time but the important part is that Luz's head was a bleeding mess and she could barely stand and Amity had to be held by back ridiculously brave bystanders because Amity had already managed to leave a horrific burn scar on Boscha's lower arm before she was stopped. Only reason Willow didn't manage to end Boscha's existence in the dead of night a few hours later is because Gus knew that Luz and Amity would be the first suspects if anything that bad happened to Boscha
