Random premonition
In this life, there are certain experiences I am unable to rationally explain; one being the flash of random images that pop into my head during states of relaxation. Sometimes these images are so strong that they make a persistent imprint on my waking, visual field. I find that they often hold a direct significance to a future event that unfolds later down the line.
This weekend I decided to document one such event. 4AM, awake, but still in bed, anticipating the sound of my alarm, I was going through all the steps I had to take in order to prepare myself for my shift. Suddenly my mind manifested an image of an unmarked police SUV behind a bush on a country side road that had flashed it's lights for me to pullover. When I opened my eyes, the imprint of the vehicle was still in my visual field.
1 hour later, I ended up being in a rush to get to work and was speeding 30 km over the limit. At one point while I was driving I got chills remembering the images of the cop car and decided to slow down just in case it was an omen. The second I slowed down I spotted an unmarked SUV to my right, hidden behind a hedge. I was still going 10 km over and exchanged looks with the officer. I think if I was going any faster, he would have pulled me over.
I find this to be just one example why I should continue to consider my dreams and premonitions in helping to guide my decision making. Although I still use logical reasoning, it’s crucial that I do not ignore what could be a form of human intuition, not yet completely understood by modern science.
