Joey, Beth, Stephen, and Danny will all be in Newsies at Pittsburgh CLO this summer!
Can we just take a moment
and appreciate how AMAZING CLO Newsies was!? As you can imagine from being a fansie for the longest time I was STOKED when Pittburgh CLO (my hometown) announced they would be doing Newsies. The show was everything I wanted and more. The last time I had seen Newsies live was back in 2014 on tour so I really missed seeing it live and needed that experience again. Our favorites Joey Barreiro, Stephen Michael Langton, Beth Laird and Danny Quadrino were some familiar faces but the rest of the ensemble was INCREDIBLE. Obviously the choreography was the most notable difference but hey, for only having a week of rehearsals it was still amazing! Some of the highlights include Danny as Crutchie; such a pure soul, Race dropping his cigar mid-King of New York and having it roll across the stage and nearly fall off into the orchestra, Sky Bennett as Spot (hello biceps!) Joey hitting those notes in Sante Fe and of course the iconic finale. Newsies will forever mean so much to me and seeing it in my hometown as a regional performance just made it that much better. Anything else you want to know about the performance? Just ask away!
