ARGH. I hate this.” Regret hit him like a truck. First was one slip-up and one bad joke which led to his feelings being a casualty. Second wasn’t necessarily his fault, but the extended side effects of the occasion was brought about by his anxiety, his fears, his doubts. Beaten, bruised, and overall feeling like he wants to vomit over the turnout of December’s welcome, he makes frantic late night calls such as this, just to put his nerves at ease. Even if his friend’s overseas. How inconsiderate of him? Maybe. Just a little. But it was #MarkSoo, and #MarkSoo doesn’t mind a 3am conversation if it’s of importance. “We’ve been through this for like, the nth time this week and you’re still haven’t brought your ass back home.”

I Know What You Did Last Summer: Do you have any embarrassing/shameful secrets? If so what are they? (It can be either deep or silly, whichever you prefer!)

Doesn’t everybody have those types of things? Let’s go with silly. The deep secret I thought of first shouldn’t be divulged here. So, one time… One time, I fell asleep at the wrong time. Remember that fact as I tell this story, okay? It may seem funny now, but it’s vital! Now where was I? Oh, hmm. I was finishing up my rotation as a junior intern in a small provincial hospital back then. It was tough on my part because not only the shifts were ridiculously taxing, but the commute as well. I had so much on mind back then, I would sometimes eat one meal a day. Then came a time, I was assigned to hold a bag valve mask for a patient, a miner, rushed from the E.R. who had experienced asphyxiation. It was necessary for me to squeeze that bag continuously every 5-6 seconds. But.. back then, I was so sleepy. I was awake for 36 hours already and it broke my body clock. I had around 2 hours left to kill until I was done for the day so my body was slowly losing its battle. To cut the long story short—I fell asleep while pumping. You could tell what happened. (But don’t worry, there were no casualties during that day. Luckily, my co-intern noticed my head drooping down.)

Final Destination: Any phobias - what are they?

You know, the common autophobia here and there. The depths of the sea troubles me too.. And I sort of have an aversion to deafening silences. I mean, I like complete silence as much as any introvert does but that type? The type where you’d feel the circuits of your brain sort of going to overdrive because you’ve suddenly entered an asylum where there’s nothing you can hear, nothing that comes out of your mouth reaches your ears—you’ll be left with you and your thoughts. And that’s not exactly a very safe place sometimes.
