Screen stars (and real life Mr. and Mrs.) Betty Garrett and Larry Parks watch as their cats prepare to duke it out over a saucer of warm milk, 1948. Betty and Larry were married for 31 years until his passing in 1975. Both stars were blacklisted during the shameful 1950s McCarthy era Red Scare, though Larry eventually thrived when he launched a construction business and Betty later resumed a high-profile acting career, memorably playing landlady with a heart of gold Mrs. Edna Babish on the popular sitcom Laverne & Shirley in the 1970s and 1980s.
