Mysterious tragedies tend to hit some cities with no normal explanation that settles well with the public. Apparently, there are no exceptions even here in a busy, bustling place like Shibuya. In a worn down and temporarily abandoned clinic marked to be resold soon, something settled into the property without notice in the dead of night.
And of course, tonight, someone who was merely returning from a hospital visit that had gone on longer than planned, was almost mindlessly wandering to the front entrance into the clinic, bored blue eyes staring at the door. Thoughts that she needed to go home had faded, drowned out by the worse thoughts clouding the back of her mind. "Lost" family, the idea of giving up on things she hoped to have back...voices in her head became whispers in her ear. A strange, black mark glowed faintly on the base of her neck, making itself comfortable there without her notice, and stronger now than ever now that she was right here.
Kanade's fingers rested on the handle. Like an invitation, the door gently opened without much at all. Today was...hard, wasn't it? She didn't have to keep doing this. She didn't have to think about what next week would be like. She walked into the building, not even noticing as the door clicked shut again behind her, burying her in the darkness of the lobby. Barely noticeable figures lingered in the corners of the rooms and peeked out from ajar doors, watching their new companion with vested interest as she slowly made her way to the examination rooms. Looking for something.
