Whatever Happened To The Bewilderbeast Egg?

So something I have wondered is what happened to the Bewilderbeast egg from Dragons: Race to the Edge.

We know it can't be Drago's Bewilderbeast because well Valka had it, and it wouldn't have had enough time to grow so big.

It couldn't be the Bewilderbeast Valka was with for it's own reasons. One being the same reason as it couldn't be Drago's which is time. Another reason is Valka specifically states that Cloudjumper brought her to the home of the Bewilderbeast, which means the one from HTTYD2 was there before Valka even showed up. Which is also backed up by the fact that when she got the Bewilderbeast egg, she already had attire themed around the Bewilderbeast.

So ahh I just had a thought!

I recall seeing people raise their brows when they spotted the Bewilderbeast egg in one of the scenes from the trailer.

Welp. Why strongly assume that egg is the dragon from the second movie? It could equally be the child of the Bewilderbeast!

Kinda links to a crack post I saw I while back, where someone asked “Hey, why didn’t the two Bewilderbeasts mate when they met? Aren’t they really rare?” answer could be: there was no need to! Because the Bewilderbeast already layed an egg (the one in RTTE).

At first that one specific trailer scene didnt make sense to me, as Hiccup said in HTTYD 2 (regarding the Bewilderbeast ice) “I’ve never seen anything like it”

But welp. Again, what exactly did Hiccup refer too? Maybe not the ice in itself specifically, but how it broke through the wooden ships like that. At that point, he probably didn’t know the Bewilderbeast’s shots were ice spikes. That they were so destructive. When he saw the ice in RTTE, could be he didn’t think too much about it.

And welp. What if RTTE will mess this up, and say that the egg is the Bewilderbeast from the second movie (which I doubt, but it could be)

Welp! Would it really matter? “HAAA proof, RTTE is not movie-verse canon” Huh, and? It’s still a good show to me. “Canon” to you or not, that doesn’t matter. Does “not canon” mean bad? Not neccessarily! <3 For all I know, RTTE bridges the time we wait for the third movie. I’m glad we have RTTE in the first place! I probably wouldn’t be in the fandom this long if it wouldn’t exist.

I’d say: let’s wait it out! See what RTTE is really going to tell us ^^
