The Origin of Beyblade

War and Blades

Called Blades for their edges of metal, just one could take on armies, demolish fortresses. Normal weapons and defenses rendered useless. And so, the world would have to fight fire with fire. Fragments were once again sought out, forged into Blades and gifted to those who'd dare wield them, spirits answering the call to bloody battle and embuing their wielders with strength well beyond that of normal humans. A mechanism was fashioned to propel their Blades at faster speeds and with greater accuracy, and were called Launchers. Techniques were invented and shared: ways to channel energy into strikes that could shred through skin, bone, steel, and Blade - ways to forge shields of light to block the most brutal of hits of any size. They would be given simple names. Attack and Defense Moves. Truly talented wielders could channel both Moves flawlessly, but those were few and far between. And even fewer were ever lucky enough to see more than a wisp of the spirit emerge from within the fragment adorning their Blade.
