I’m rereading the Beyond series (for the third time) because it is my comfort romance and makes me happy. It’s porn with plot, but the porn is hot and plentiful and the dystopian plot is gripping and totally worth getting through the first two books (I’m not rereading them—they aren’t my cup of tea, so you’ll just have to deal with it).

I’m reading it out of order because Rachel/Ace/Cruz are hot and I’m not apologizing for it. Also, everything is full spoilers.

Anyway!

Beyond Jealousy: Rachel/Ace/Cruz

* Um. Ok. So Rachel is a good girl who is also an exhibitionist and submissive. Ace, the sadist/genius tattoo artist, broke her heart because he didn’t think he was worthy of her and she took it as rejection. She got with Cruz, the killing machine who defected from Eden and is just discovering how dirty he likes sex in addition to some serious control, but broke up with him for reasons I don’t remember. Ace and Cruz were going to be enemies over her, but turns out they are both super hot for each other, in addition to still both being hot for her. They all eventually get to the point of “porque no los dos?” This is their story.

* The O’Kanes do nothing halfway. I’m not even sure how much I can do live reactions to this series that isn’t just fanning myself. Like, their first time as a thruple? 🔥🔥🔥🔥

* “She'd assumed Mad was carrying some kind of torch for Doc, but the truth hit her in a rush. It was much, much more complicated.” I literally spent books and books being confused about the Jade-Scarlet-Mad-Dylan thing (I’m not very smart). I kept being like, wait, I thought they were into someone else? For all of them. Including as I read the thruple book.

* “Fuck that life. Fuck those lies, the denial and shame. With Rachel curled trustingly against him, Cruz let go of the last little bits of Eden clinging to him, wrapped a hand around the back of Ace's head, and pulled him in for a slow, tongue-tangling kiss.”🔥🔥🔥

* Totally missed all the referrences to Ford and Mia happening in the background!

* Seriously, I somehow read the bit with Mad and thought, “wow, Doc really takes caring for his patients seriously, sitting with them all night.” I was young and naive, less than two years ago.

* “You're enough for me, you'll always be enough. But that doesn't mean we're not less without him."

Bottom line: 🔥🔥🔥. I’m gonna go read the extra stories about them because I can’t get enough of these three.
